CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

A BIOPHARMACEUTICAL DRUG DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, 2001 to October 2006
A $7M contract services organization providing a full range of highly efficient, biopharmaceutical drug development outsourced services to biotech and large pharmaceutical companies

President / CEO / Board of Directors

Recruited by the Board of this R&D Company founded in 1996 upon proprietary, patented bioreactor technology, to refocus and drive revenue growth in an operation that had no existing revenue platform, no collaborations, and few investors. Within four years, accomplished the following:

* Transitioned the company from an R&D based organization to a revenue-producing large molecule drug development service platform. Created and spun off a drug development company as a separate business unit that focused exclusively on the emerging, profitable outsourcing in the biopharmaceutical industry ? a high demand and high growth sector.

* Redirected R&D away from bio-remediation applications and toward protein drug bio-production.

* Developed revenue generating service business based on a full service technology platform for protein drug development approaching positive EBITDA within 18 months.

* Secured $1M loan from North Carolina Biotechnology Center; relocated operations from Atlanta, GA to a purchased facility in Durham, North Carolina in 2003.

* Raised $40M in debt and equity and built cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) biopharma development labs and Phase I Clinical Manufacturing operations.

* Negotiated collaborative agreements in India for contract bio-manufacturing and bio-generics. International clients include major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

* Pursued and acquired 30 contracts, with clients ranging from major pharmaceutical companies to multi-national governments. Grew the revenue stream to $7M in two years, approaching positive cash flow.

By creating a drug development revenue stream, we established ?loner survivability? status for the company. In addition, this comprehensive drug development technology platform opened significant new market opportunities ? a pipeline for bio-manufacturing (CMO) opportunities; a crucial technology wedge for entering the emerging bio-generic markets; as well as a launch pad for the company?s proprietary bioreactor technology. My intrinsic understanding of the strategic impact of outsourcing in the drug industry future drove this company?s success.

A DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM COMPANY, Cambridge, MA 2000 to 2001

President / CEO / Board of Directors

Averaging turnaround within 6 to 9 months; assessed efficiency and quality of current operations, created business plan, and led the restructure focused around the core technology and/or base business, and, in most instances, reestablished a steady flow of revenue in preparation for sale or merger. Maintained a culture of optimism and stabilized employee morale during a period of change, working closely with key decision makers and financial institutions.

Notable achievements:

* Refocused and streamlined operations for a $25M worldwide heavy equipment manufacturer and distributor on the verge of foreclosure. Within two and a half years turned around the company to today?s value of $50M through restructure. Identified key technologies and strengths, implemented cost effective marketing, while the Company expanded an international business base in Mexico, India, and Egypt.

* Turned around an overextended electric equipment manufacturer with international sales. Within nine months reduced losses by 50% and prepared the company for successful sale to a major competitor.

* Assumed management role and reversed downward trend of a Mercedes-Benz, Saab, and Subaru dealership facing bankruptcy. Within a three-year period ? reduced losses and set-up payment plans with creditors, rebuilt solid relationships with each franchise, and negotiated the sale of the franchise and its real estate ? resulting in a positive monetary gain for the owners.
