Director - Strategic Programs, North America Consulting (Jan. 2005 - Jul. 2006)
Recruited by original hiring manager to support newly formed North American Consulting Organization. Accomplishments led to rapid increases in staffing and responsibilities. Responsible for improving business operations for a 3,000-person professional services delivery organization with emphasis on increasing headcount, field readiness, and solution/offering development. Managed a team comprised of five consulting managers and two directors responsible for consulting field readiness and improving the recruiting, hiring and retention of consultants in North America. Additional resources under my direction (with dotted-line reporting) included four offshore support resources and a team of 20 internal recruiters.
* Integrated consultants acquired from other companies. Brought together disparate delivery organizations from North America reorganization. Developed world-class career development and onboarding programs resulting in reduced attrition and higher employee satisfaction.
* Drove aggressive headcount growth, leveraging directed performance management. Achieved 400-head quarterly hiring program for a 3000-person group. (In so doing, leveraged and scaled up identical EPM system used to achieve 300-head program in 12 months prior for 800-person group.)

Approached by Japan Subsidiary, an organization with approximately 2,000 employees, to facilitate development of Japanese-specific features required for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) for a Japanese automobile manufacturer. Directed an internal cross-functional team of sales, consulting, and R&D managers. Enhanced partnering and sales strategies for Japan Subsidiary. Worked on internal projects related to solution selling, architecture selling and industry-focused solutions. Rolled out a global sales methodology. Program/Project Director - New York Metro Consulting Region (1999 - 2003) Responsible for selling, owning and managing consulting engagements in North America. Successes lead to promotions in both 2000 and 2001 in the same role. Projects included:
* Staffed and managed a 30-person team of consultants and outside contractors on a four-month, US $6M (in services only) Internet development project for a Japanese electronics manufacturer. This project was a springboard for larger initiatives that I developed (CRM, ERP, and Extranet projects), bringing in a total of US $25M in services and licenses.
* Led feasibility study, sold, and project managed the 10-person, six-month, US $5M development of a Japanese e-commerce storefront for a German media company. Replatformed website, content and tools to a new Unicode architecture and localized them. Brought in resources from Japan Subsidiary.
* Sold and obtained references for implementation of several early-adopter products and features, working directly with development (including E-commerce package with Unicode, Personalization, Web Cache, and PLM & CRM Applications).

Manager - Management Consulting
Recruited and hired by the Chairman and CEO to join business development team that re-established the Tokyo office, growing from 20 to more than 100 people with business and strategy consulting responsibilities. Key clients: AFLAC, Showa Shell, Exxon, and Coca-Cola.
* Established the Local Technology Reseller subsidiary office. Subsidiary resold software and hardware products to consulting customers as solution packages. Performed official business registration. Developed partnerships with over 20 vendors. Set up and completed first sale in Japan.
* Led SWAT team to perform a risk assessment of a US $100M, multiyear, custom development project for a Financial Services company. Identified problems and potential risks in the technical feasibility and economic viability for company-wide redevelopment of all systems. Analysis saved millions of dollars in development costs, and since then, the company has become number one in their industry.
* Created IT strategy for an oil & gas company that enabled new business opportunities and accelerated technology project implementations. Substantial subsequent project work resulted.
* Led rollout for a global project to implement Japanese business infrastructure in a Singapore data-center that utilized thin-client technology. Project enabled penetration in competitor-occupied area.

Assumed business development responsibilities for Japan subsidiary, a start-up middleware software vendor selling client-server tools for UNIX and other platforms. This experience provided a business foundation for working with Japanese IT professionals, vendors and integrators. Key clients: NTT, Mitsubishi Electric, Orix, and Seiko-Epson.
* Acquired base technology for Java version of core product (Unicode). Managed US-based contractor. Assumed responsibility for all sales activities and beta program.
* Established relationship as a solution partner with IBM. Developed concept for AS400 product version. Assessed the technical feasibility and spearheaded the development project. Hired the first specialist and secured India offshore partner. Developed initial budget, plan and launch project for AS400 port and migration tool, targeting retail customers. Turned over staffed project to the engineering team.
* Provided technical consultations to the most strategic sales opportunities, including a multimillion dollar license deal with Orix (Japanese leasing company), Seiko-Epson (electronics manufacturer), and NTT (the largest Japanese phone company). All accounts yielded references and substantial revenue contribution.
