CAREER OBJECTIVE:

A senior management position with an organization that values Information Technology as a key component for achieving the goals of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS:
20+ years experience in Information Technology, Networking, and Telecommunications for business. This experience has been in steadily increasing roles of responsibility and includes:

• 10 years experience leading Information Technology strategic planning and architecture programs.
• 25 years experience planning, designing, and implementing global data and voice networks.
• 25 years managing and involvement in IT support and operations functions.
• 15 years involvement in organizational change processes, and IT governance processes.
• Direct involvement with officer and board level personnel for planning, recommending, and implementing IT programs for business.
• 10 years experience with global vendor contract negotiation and approval processes. This includes carrying sole responsibility for negotiating and implementing $25MM+ RFP’s and resulting contracts.
• Thorough experience with, and understanding of engineering principles and governance processes required to move “conceptual” technology designs into “utility like” infrastructure.

EXPERIENCE:

Vitafoam, Incorporated (Current) – Director of Information Technology:
• Full responsibility for all Information Technology at Vitafoam. This includes all voice, data, software, platform, and operating systems infrastructures.
• Developed and gained approval for new 3 year strategic plan for IT.
• Implemented year one of the plan including replacement and upgrade of an ageing LAN, server, and ERP platform environment. Year one also included relocation of central computing facility to a hardened collocation facility with US provider.
• Program Director for implementation of company wide ERP system. Successfully assumed responsibility for and salvaged the ERP project which was a year behind and well over budget.

Oakwood Homes Corporation (2002-2003) – Senior Manager, Voice and Data Systems:
• Managed 20 personnel, arranged in 4 groups; Telecom, Systems Engineering, Client Server Applications, and AS400 Systems.
• Successfully gained approval for a new Telecom infrastructure integrating Voice and IP technology.
• Created and managed a Request For Proposal process for a new Enterprise Backup System.

The Clorox Company (1994 to 2002) - Senior I.S. Manager:
• Successfully led the planning and construction of a large global network for the company (18 countries and over 115 locations).
• Successfully established the first Internet gateway at Clorox (including firewall’s, proxies, etc)
• Management responsibility for the development of middleware, messaging, and security strategies.
• Personally negotiated the $25 MM contract with the major global carrier that included all voice, data, and video services.
• Led the team responsible for the development of an Enterprise Wide Technical Architecture for Clorox.
• As Managing Architect, lead teams that formulated the plan by which Clorox IT and the business will work together to meet the future technology needs of Clorox.

DHL Systems, Inc. (1990 to 1994) – Manager: Global Network Engineering and Account Management:
• Primary accountability for the management of staff responsible for design, provisioning, implementation, and Account Management on DHL Worldwide Express global IT infrastructure.
• As core member of the Integrated Communications Services Program helped develop the Enterprise Technical Architecture for future international business strategies for DHL. This project encompassed all data, voice, imaging, and videoconferencing requirements over a global backbone, as well as the integration of applications on a country by country basis.

California Federal Bank (1987 to 1990) - Manager, Communications Field Service:
• Responsible for all Communication and Information processing systems for the Northwest Region of California Federal Bank.
• Responsibility for “vendor management” for all vendors in the Region.
• Accountable for a $2.5 million I.T. budget.

Computer Sciences Corporation (1984 to 1987) - International Customer Service Engineer:
• Provided all network design and customer support Northern California for a world wide Value Added Network.
• Responsible for providing technical support for CSC’s Marketing Group in Northern California
• Responsible for coordinating all international project implementations.

Wells Fargo Bank (1980 to 1984) - Senior Information Systems Design Engineer:
• Responsible for design, project management, implementation, and third level support of Well’s data networks.
• Authored and presented high level technical proposals to Sr. Management for approval.
• Responsible for successful completion of major redesign for the Wells Fargo Network Control Center.

EDUCATION:

• St. Mary’s of Moraga School of Business (MBA in process)
• Successfully passed the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) required for admission to Graduate School
• Grossmont Community College (AA)
