Duties included operational planning, inbound and outbound logistics, production, budgeting, and safety. • Increased plant EBITDA by $950,000 in the first year by transforming a demoralized and inefficient management group into a smaller, cohesive, and energized leadership team • Reduced annual Workers Compensation claims from $250K to $25K in 2 years through implementation of an employee-led and management-facilitated Safety Program. • Led the initiation of the Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement journey through training, goal setting, and hands on coaching resulting in lower costs and a plant capacity increase large enough to force the closure of another higher cost plant.

Provided leadership and direction of 461 employees involved preparation, packing, and catering of food, beverages, and foodservice equipment. Duties included operational planning, inbound and outbound logistics, production, budgeting, safety, and HACCP. • Successfully led the operation through the 9/11 crisis adapting to the extremely volatile business operating conditions while achieving no reduction in the quality of service rendered to American Airlines. • Led a plant consolidation and closure project in the 6 weeks following the 9/11 crisis achieving a smooth transition of customer requirements, people, equipment, and materials in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Responsible for leadership of the site implementations of Lean Manufacturing process improvements in both production facilities in the Dallas Market. Developed, organized, and implemented the Continuous Improvement department. • Achieved 9.8% and 4.8% reductions in food production labor cost in the two most profitable and efficiently run food operations in the Sky Chefs system in five months each through the aggressive implementation of “pull systems” in all food production and assembly work cells, work cell layout changes, overhaul of the production scheduling process, and development and implementation of performance metrics. American Pad & Paper, Inc. - Salt Lake City, UT General Manager Responsible and accountable for the construction and startup of a 385,000 square foot manufacturing plant with annual sales of $65MM supporting the western US, Canada, Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii. Provided leadership and direction of 200 employees involved in the manufacture and distribution of multiple lines of paper-based office products. Duties included operational planning, inbound and outbound logistics, production, budgeting, safety, and quality control. • Developed and led the implementation of a comprehensive operational and logistical plan to merge four manufacturing plants in three states into one consolidated plant in Salt Lake City which resulted in the successful maintenance of uninterrupted customer shipments during the movement, installation, and startup of all equipment, inventory, and systems in the new plant. • Increased customer order processing turn rates and customer shipments while concurrently reducing inventories by 33% through reengineering of the operational planning and manufacturing processes.
