• Managed a staff of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Designers split between (2) plants in different states.
• Supported all operational departments in the company including Sales, Product Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing/Assembly, Test/QA, Service, Technical Support, Parts, Technical Publications, Marketing, Customer Service, Cost Accounting.
• Tasked to migrate the division from a ‘job shop’ environment to a full production mentality. Dedicating staff to ‘download tribal knowledge’ from key manufacturing personnel to properly document the current products.
• Processed over 1000 customized generators totaling more than $50MM.
• Migrated mechanical design system from 2D AutoCAD to 3D SolidWorks modeling.
• Developed new, ground-up standard units, standardizing product designs and options, creating sub-assemblies for various standards and options, creating product nomenclature to allow future configuration of SAP auto-configuration, wrote all product specifications documents.
• Maintained UL/ETL files for UL2200 and CSA22.2

• Managed a staff of 14 including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Design Supervisor, Electrical Designers, Mechanical Designers and Document Control.
• Reduced engineering COGS from >9% to <4.9% of revenue.
• Plant revenue more than doubled without increasing engineering head-count.
• Attained UL Panel Builder certification (UL category NITW)
• In-process with four (4) UL file extensions for major vendor products (UL categories DLAH and WUTZ)
• Streamlined the Document Control process for document issuance to customers, vendors, 3rd parties as well as to internal departments (purchasing, planning, manufacturing); the new process maintained Project records for every project transmittal.
• Led the efforts for the plant’s Oracle “re-implementation”; created documentation and instructions on how to perform the various functions inside of Oracle; trained personnel on the various new or reconfigured modules; discontinued use of an older BOM system and migrated it’s functionality into Oracle; specified custom Oracle reports.
• Participated in the plant’s ISO-9001 (2001) re-certification and follow-up surveillance audits; wrote or re-wrote multiple ISO Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Provided assistance to the Inside Sales/Marketing groups on quotations and customer visits.
