Director of Software Engineering
Have primary responsibility for managing Optical Network Management System department and part of the Embedded Node Software department. Responsible for the management of software on the Company's metro networking products (ON5000 ONMS/ALC 1677 SL EMS) and the Optical Switch ALC 1677 SL. Had two software managers and a Consultant reporting to me. The ONMS and EMS products are developed on a Client/Server environment on Solaris and PC platforms utilizing Java 1.3, IONA Orbix/Corba 3.2/2000, Oracle DB and other 3-rd party software utilities.
Responsibilities include project planning and project managing of parallel releases of the software products, system engineering level definition and documentation of new features and several engineering architectural initiatives. Project managed best successful ON 5000 V2.1 release. Analyzed and documented an architectural vision for the network management products going forward. Also responsible for managing embedded node side software supporting the INMS, CMI, Logging, Security and CLI software subsystems written in C++. Developed project plans and specifications to support quarterly maintenance releases for the projects. Reviewed Telcordia standard documents and managed development of Use Cases to reflect conformance to standards and internal Marketing Requirements. Managed successful development of the 1677 SL V1.1 and V2.0 development project in 4Q01 and 1Q02 respectively.
Managed Sustaining Development and Software Diagnostics groups. Responsible for the quality releases of over 12 new hardware boards being deployed as part of the ALC 1677 SL optical switch. Interfaced to the hardware department for diagnostics support and the corporate manufacturing organizations. Supported internal diagnostics improvements to address quality issues in externally supplied vendor chips. Interfaced to the Customer Service organizations in MA, TX whilst addressing various customer reported problems in timely fashion.

Senior Manager, Software
Managed three groups (20 engineers total) with responsibilities for ATM Switch Traffic Management, Frame Relay/SMDS Switch Software and IP Routing and Protocols in an embedded software development environment. Department responsible for worldwide support of customer reported switch software problems.
Provide solutions in the form of maintenance patches. Also responsible for Client-Server development of a Network Management Product (ITM NM/XM) for managing SONET Network Elements (Lucent and non-Lucent NEs) in a hierarchical architecture. The server was hosted on HP hardware/HP-UX OS platforms; and the client software was developed in Java and supported on HP Workstations and PCs. Specific responsibilities included Oracle database upgrades, implementation of new features and enhancements to the Lucent EMS (XM); and enhancements and on-going support for the System Administration subsystem and support for a CORBA interface.
October 1994 – June 1998: Merrill Lynch, NY (Technical Architect/Consultant)
Led a team of software engineers in re-engineering and development of a Risk Management System for Global Swaps and Commodity Derivatives. Risk Management System interfaced to several

trading systems, Corporate Credit, Collateral Management and Corporate Counterparty Systems. Newly architected system was developed in Perl, Sybperl and C++. Completely re-engineered the database warehouse of trade transactions. Architected and built a Perl/Sybperl library. Developed Year 2000 Migration of a Perfect Match application for Funds Transfers.
June 1993 – September 1994: Bear Stearns & Co., NY (Technical Architect/Project Lead)
Project leadership, architecture and development responsibilities including setting up a Derivatives Trading System and networking for worldwide access. Architected and developed a sophisticated Credit Exposure Model for Derivatives products.
April 1989 – June 1993: AT&T Bell Labs, NJ (Software Consultant/Project Manager)
Responsible for the design/development of Cellular Communication (cell site) software for cell site maintenance and diagnostics for analog and digital (TDMA) radios. Was part of the architectural analysis team working on migration of our cell-sites from analog & TDMA architecture to a CDMA based architecture.
Project Management and Systems Engineering responsibilities on Network Management Products – Trouble Tracker and custom Network Management Product for AmEx. Division representative on Corporate-wide Network Management Protocol body. Also responsible for AT&T BCSystems process re-engineering of work centers nationwide.
April 1987 – March 1989: Chase Manhattan Bank, NY (Senior Software Consultant)
Consulting, systems development, training and support for Electronic Funds Transfer systems. Supported and developed communications software links to the FED system or to other in-house funds transfer systems. Developed software to support Private Banking. Development of core funds transfer functions including preparation, verification and suspense features.

• Developed firmware for keyboard/display handlers for new instrumentation products for telephone network and wideband/ISDN simulators.
April 1984 – December 1986: AT&T Bell Laboratories, NJ (Contract Consultant)
Responsible for the exploratory and advanced development of a family of modems (4.8kbps to 19.2kbps DDD and PL modems). Developed firmware to emulate real-time signal processing operations.
March 1982 - April 1984: Management Information Systems, Lagos (General Manager)
• Responsibility for various leadership positions, operational responsibilities and other administrative responsibilities for a hundred-person software company in the consulting and custom software development space.
June 1980 – April 1984: Asidor Inc, NY (Senior Consultant/General Manager)
Development of device drivers and message switching application for a number of clients in New York. Architected and developed software for IBM and DEC diskette conversion for a shipping company. Developed real-time data acquisition system for major drug company. Project leadership of hardware/software development of a common processor for a family of line signal processors. Designed board as replacement for IBM Series-I PCS subsystem. Software development of device drivers, message switching system and intelligent terminal for funds transfer applications on DEC PDP-11 platform in Assembler and Fortran.
