I efficiently used resources to get productivity gains and reduce costs while maintaining employee stability and customer satisfaction through continual improvement.

Chief Information Officer (AIAA) - Reston, VA

I managed the Web and Information Technology Teams resulting in 5% year-over-year profit growth. Recognition of my successes led to expanded responsibilities. In June 2005, the new CEO added internal communications and two non-technical teams to my division. I managed an annual budget of $3 million and led a 17-person team.

* Responsible for "putting everything on the Web" using new business processes and database-driven, integrated, web-based systems.
* Maintained 99.9% uptime for 30 servers over a period of 6 years with minimal staff. The servers (several were clusters) were used for Microsoft SQL Server, ColdFusion, e-mail, Web, FTP, document conversion to PDF, PDF manipulation, firewall, fax, file serving, Microsoft Exchange, Verity, WebTrends, Solomon, Citrix, NAS and IP Office.
* Boosted revenue with online delivery of products ($3 million revenue annually).
* Managed an e-commerce project using a team of stakeholders. Outsourced development and worked with vendor daily to release an application that has collected over $20 million since released in September 2001.
* Contributed greatly to the company's Business Continuity Plan.
* Reduced production and support costs $500,000 annually and 4 FTEs.
* Completed numerous projects and system upgrades using a defined system development life cycle (SDLC) that consistently met the expectations of the stakeholder teams.

* Technology Team Leader for an organizational move from Washington DC to Reston VA, The move was first to temporary space while permanent build was under way, then to permanent facility six months later. * Streamlined conference registration resulting in reduced processing time and elimination of redundant data entry.

MIS Manager (AIAA) - Washington, DC

I managed the MIS Department, automated many paper processes, centralized databases, and prepared the staff for a digital future.
* Project manager and UNIX administrator for installation of association management software, Aztech*Ware. Delivered system on time and on budget. Worked among stakeholders and vendor to meet business goals and user needs.
* Supported 100 users on Macs, PCs, and terminals using Unix server as host. Trained staff and enabled users to help themselves. 70% of staff were first-time computer users.
* Won awards within the Aztech*Ware community.
* Installed new accounting package, South*Ware.

B & D Woodworking - Westminster, MD

I managed the team responsible for the design, development and implementation of an information system that included sales order entry, CAD, inventory and financial functions for a $5 million woodworking firm. The system, down sized from an IBM System 36, was hosted on networked Macintosh systems using the Omnis 7 RDBMS and the MiniCAD packages. Tailored functions were implemented using PASCAL.

Trident Data Systems - Alexandria, VA

I was responsible for hardware and software support for computer systems including Macintosh, IBM compatible PCs, Sun Microsystems, and the HP-3000. I was responsible for support of users on 3-Com and Banyan VINES LANs. My responsibilities included installing networked systems, training users and maintaining the networks and systems. This support was provided on the customer site - the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).
