Executive Job Description | The Sr. Sourcing Manager has the primary responsibility for the development and maintenance of strategic initiatives through the establishment of supplier specifications, measuring conformance, and identifying process improvement opportunities. Specific responsibilities include development of category strategies, supplier negotiations, integration with business units, identification of cost savings opportunities, and overall management of supplier relationships.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement global/regional commodity and sourcing strategies to achieve corporate business objectives.
* Responsible for defining, planning and executing Sourcing projects to improve the existing business (s) and set(s) the stage for future growth.
* Responsible to create the project schedules, assign key tasks, partner with/recruit cross functional teams to execute the tasks and hold regular update meetings to ensure projects stay on track.
* Establish sources for new technologies and in new markets as business requirements dictate.
* Ensure year-to-year, bottom-line material and product cost improvements for assigned commodity/spend category

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline is required. MBA with focus in purchasing or supply chain management is preferred.
5 - 7 years of experience in a sourcing/purchasing related field where negotiating, contract administration and strategy development responsibilities can be demonstrated.
Chemical sourcing background, or understanding of the types of products Our company purchases and uses, would be a strong plus.
SAP experience is also highly desirable.
Excellent problem solving and category management skills
Ability to establish supplier specifications, measure conformance, and identify process improvement opportunities that are defined in conjunction with internal customers is critical to the position.
Ability to create a strategy and implement it across a variety of businesses and locations
Strong project management/leadership skills
