After finishing my commitment with Forever 21, I completed my Ph.D. coursework and moved to Atlanta to be closer to elderly parents. Since then, I am volunteering my time with Taproot, providing pro bono subject matter expertise to non-profits worldwide.
I am currently working with Accokeek Foundation, a non-profit focused on environment and sustainability education, reviewing and updating their HR policies, re-writing the employee handbook, and creating an on-boarding program. I am actively seeking my next opportunity.

Vice President of Human Resources | Aug 2012 - Sep 2014 (2-Year Commitment)
For $5B Forever 21, built and led a global team of 108 HR professionals in all HR functions: Benefits, training, compensation, employee relations, HRIS, talent, and recruiting for 45,000 employees at headquarters, 5 global distribution centers, and retail locations around the world. Supported companys growth from 450 to 650+ global stores. Provided guidance and coaching to the senior executive team and Forever 21 CEO and President.
* Developed and executed a 3-year Global HR transformation strategy: (1) HR Foundational Excellence, (2) Development and Onboarding, and (3) Talent Management and Succession Planning.
* Restructured organizational design and corporate leadership across 38 departments. Recruited 12 external VPs to support the new leadership structure.
* Developed Forever 21 Core Values: Happiness, Innovation, People, Passion, and Ownership (HIPPO). Dramatically increased employee engagement through HIPPO rewards and recognition program.
* Partnered with Finance to roll out company's first formal budget program. Implemented first labor management process including headcount budget and labor line.
* Introduced first KPI program to all departments and implemented a new management bonus program structured around these key business metrics.
* Established Global HR Foundational Excellence. Led team to create 1,700 job descriptions, pay bands, market compensation policy, job suites, SOPs, turnover reporting, and the compliance audit process.
* Successfully implemented Development Strategy. Introduced structured onboarding for all associates, developed leadership development program, and completed first EES / EOS.
* Implemented an integrated HRI System including SAP, Success Factors, Benefit Focus, and Kronos, across all Forever 21 locations around the world.
* Reduced headquarters turnover from 47% to 24% through targeted retention efforts: Expanded benefits including establishment of a 401k program, and management bonus program; implemented management training; and instituted monthly turnover reporting and employee surveys.
* Lowered headquarters overtime usage by $4M annually by implementing OT tracking and creating an accountability system across all departments.

Reporting to the Group VP of Human Resources, contributed to the company's transformation from transactional HR to strategic HR, and supported HR growth from 14 to 108 global associates. Developed and executed a $5M payroll and travel budget and instituted quarterly budget reviews.
* Created and implemented a global HR service delivery model across 1,100 stores in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, with a focus on culture and values. Established and led a team of 36 global associates in Asia, Europe, and the United States. Streamlined HR processes, trained global associates, and identified specialists for country-specific issues.
* Designed a global talent management system that supported company's long-term growth strategy; partnered with the director of Training & Development to develop a high-potential talent identification process; and aligned talent with organizational values.

Oversaw all on-site HR functions including employee orientation, leadership training, performance management, succession planning, compensation, conflict resolutions, retention, and union avoidance initiatives. Led a team of 9 including 4 recruiters, 2 trainers, 2 HR associates, and an administrator. Served as a strategic HR business partner to the VP and the executive team.
* Filled 2,500 positions for a new facility in Kansas: 1,500 call center representatives, 150 pharmacists, 600 technicians, 100 managers, and 100 general/administrative. Partnered with an outside agency to recruit and screen candidates from across the country.
* Maintained HR call center turnover at 36%, well below the target of 50%; implemented a 4-day workweek in the call center.
