2013 to Present: Percheron Technologies  Managing Principal

Percheron is a business management consultancy for small and midsize companies in the federal market that need to expand their business, address significant growth challenges and prepare for success beyond their eligibility for restricted competition. Areas of expertise includes business development (client relationship management / capture management / proposal development), program management (turn around of distressed programs / new program ramp-up and close-out), business operations (change management and integration of acquired organizations) and interim executive service (CXO) on a full time or part time basis.

" Facilitated the reorganization of a managed care organization (MCO) that had transitioned from a state agency to a commercial entity.

Key responsibilities and objectives included 1) day-to-day operations of the company full P&L responsibility 2) building an executive team (CFO&CMO) to enable the owner to step away from the business. 3) Recovering the companys largest program (75% of revenue) which was at risk of being cancelled due to funding issues. 4) Developing and implementing a plan to grow the company beyond the government small business size standard and remain competitive without the benefit of limited competition. This included building the companys first business development team. All objectives were met or exceeded.

" SmartCEO Magazine selected Centuria as a 2012 SmartCEO 100 Best-Run Company.
" Increased annual revenue from $16M to $36M from 2009 to 2013, exceeding the small business size standard of $25.5M. This included being awarded over $100M in new contract wins in 2010.
" Culminating a three-year strategic investment, won five prime contract vehicles in the targeted market with $950M in ceiling value in 2012.

" Supported development of the integration plan for the combination of the two ($100M+) subsidiary companies. Supported the implementation of the plan.
" Supported the creation of a best practice based business development plan and facilitated its adoption by the business development team.
" Turned around six distressed projects and ensured all service levels were met or exceeded while repairing damaged customer relationships.

2001 to 2007: Apogen Technologies (a QinetiQ company)  EVP & Group Manager

Apogen provided IT and engineering solutions to the public, commercial and international markets. Responsible for the P&L of his business unit ($110M+). He built and maintained client relationships at the senior executive level and led business development. In addition to corporate responsibilities, also led the companys largest program  a $1B IT services IDIQ contract supporting multiple federal projects. The team of over 800 people was geographically dispersed in the U.S. and internationally.

" Led the business development team that drove the growth from $40M to over $110M in annual revenue during a thirty-six month period by capturing over 175 task orders and $400M in awards.
" Worked with U.K. parent company to deliver their technology to the U.S. government market and provide U.S. developed solutions to the Ministry of Defense (MOD).
" Led the recovery effort after Hurricane Katrina that stopped operations in the New Orleans headquarters and severed communications with over 800 employees and our clients. Full operations were restored in less than six weeks using alternate sites (three states) and innovative teleworking solutions.
" Selected to stand up a division in a new market. Exceeded the first year revenue target of $15M by $2M.
" Designed and implemented the companys Project Management development program. Established the program management competency center.

1998 to 2001: Pathology Assoc. International (an SAIC company)  VP & Division Manager

The Research Services Division was unique within SAIC. Provided pre-clinical and clinical support services to the federal government and international biomedical, pharmaceutical, diagnostic and medical device market. Held full P&L responsibility for the division.

" Brought in after the initial leadership team received a cure notice on a $60M federal project, putting the contract at risk of being cancelled for cause and putting the company at risk of debarment from government work. Led the effort that resulted in the cure notice being rescinded in less than 30 days. Over the next eighteen months, customer satisfaction scores increased from 2.7 to 8.2 (out of 10). Twenty-four months after starting work, the division was sold for 14x EBITDA.
" Led the Division through annual revenue growth from $12M to $46M and increased EBITDA from 3% to 12%.
" Responsible for seven research and test laboratories (histology, immunohistochemistry, and bone morphometry), 35 facilities and over 350 people in geographically dispersed locations. All laboratories were assessed as fully compliant with good laboratory practice (GLP) annual audits.

1997  1998 - Physician Reimbursement Systems  Vice President Business Operations; PRS, a healthcare consultancy provided information based reimbursement products and services for medical practices, hospitals and insurers that ensured accurate reimbursement and reduced the risk of fraud. The company was a pioneer in healthcare IT and its services helped customers stay abreast of CMS regulations, maintain HIPAA compliance, and optimize ethical billing.

" Developed service to speed the assignment of billing codes to new pharmaceuticals and procedures  allowing reimbursement to begin as much as six months more quickly than normally achieved.
" Recovered the accounting function and produced reviewed financials for the first time in the companys history that enabled the owners to move forward with their plans to sell the company.

1992  1996 - SAIC  Training Department Manager; supported the DOE Yucca Mountain Program (DOE program for the underground storage of high level nuclear waste).

" Developed the underground construction training program that allowed construction to stay on schedule.
