Promoted by our Private Equity owners to lead the parent company through a restructuring of a multi-subsidiary, early-stage business into a streamlined entity in a challenging market environment. Directed the commercial and processing operations of a 6,000 BBL/day liquid fuel production facility; motivating and leading a multi-disciplinary team across the areas of sales/marketing, manufacturing, safety, environmental, engineering, supply chain, financial/risk management, and complex state and federal regulatory compliance.

Highlight: Divested of various development entities and subsidiary units to concentrate on successfully revitalizing profitable manufacturing and distribution assets for a cash-strapped enterprise operating in a market characterized by intense volatility and regulatory complexity.

Preserved and motivated the core business team through prolonged market challenges while taking the decisive measures required to reduce corporate headcount by 60%, re-structure and defer significant leasehold payments to reduce fixed costs, and idle the primary processing plant to preserve cash for the ability to fight again. Through the eye of the storm, we transformed the team through a culture of ownership - inspiring innovation and continuous improvement that elevated the competitiveness of the asset via a 25% reduction in annual operating costs and an increase of $700,000 per month in revenue-generating capacity.
Facing escalating feedstock prices and growing market volatility for merchant operations, we adjusted our game plan by developing and executing a Joint Operating Agreement between GEFH and Vitol, Inc.  playing to our strengths in processing operations and supply chain excellence while leveraging Vitol's strong balance sheet and risk management/hedging capabilities. The hybrid fee-for-service/profit-sharing structure provided over $40MM in working capital to the enterprise and yielded annualized results of $232MM in gross revenues, $28MM of EBITDA and $22MM in free cash flow.
Assumed governance of the board of Green Earth's agricultural business in Guatemala - a wholly-owned enterprise employing 200 people engaged in the cultivation / production of 12,000 acres of oil palm valued at $87MM. Led an expedited and extensive restructuring of the executive and operations management teams of the subsidiary - providing the foundation required to secure and deploy a $43 million syndicated project financing facility central to the continuation, and ultimate divestment, of the enterprise.
Represented the company and the industry before regulatory bodies such as the EPA, TCEQ and the European Trade Commission. Positioned the company at the forefront of industry regulatory compliance and intelligence  capitalizing on opportunities to leverage our in-depth understanding of regulations and policy to gain strategic advantage.

Developed and launched an integrated alternative energy company, serving as a member of the core executive team, with direct accountability for the new ventures vision, strategy, P&L, marketing, and product offtake/sales.
Highlight: Co-founder, originating the business plan and securing an initial $71MM in only 3 months and, ultimately, over $160MM in total funding from leading private equity investors, Riverstone Holdings, The Carlyle Group, and Goldman Sachs.

Champion of an innovative approach to renewable fuel production and distribution centered on the rapid development of large-scale production facilities integrated within existing hubs of petroleum distribution infrastructure. Key contributor to the successful launch of a biodiesel production plant co-located within the Kinder Morgan Galena Park Terminal on the Houston Ship Channel (largest plant in the U.S. at project completion).
Facing the prospect of a newly-completed plant coming on-line in a delayed U.S. biodiesel market, pivoted the focus of the companys sales strategy to the export market - rapidly securing pre-production sales to European clients representing +$200MM in revenues and securing a substantial portion of our new assets capacity under long-term contracts.
Rapidly and successfully positioned a start-up enterprise as a capable, commercial counterparty with major customers and suppliers such as Shell-Motiva, Lukoil, Glencore, BP, Noble Energy, Chevron, Trafigura, ADM, Cargill, Wilmar, Tyson, Gavilon, Louis Dreyfus and Bunge.
Accountable for regular presentations of commercial matters to the Board of Directors at all regular and extraordinary meetings.
