Catalyst Pharmacy Consulting provides technical consulting and implementation for healthcare and pharmacy operations.
Vice President New Product Development (March 2014 to Present)
Working closely with key accounts in the healthcare and pharmacy field, Catalyst consults with some of the largest retail, outpatient and mail order systems. The company also consults with hospital and physician systems.
* Led Apple Mobile Medical's search for a new system. Worked with the Apple Mobile Medical Occupational Health Executive team to recommend a system that meets their growing needs.
* Currently working with a large retail pharmacy chain in Texas. Partnering with the directors of technical departments of Pharmacy operations to evaluate their current system outages and recommend solutions. With my background and expertise in cloud-based pharmacy systems, I have reviewed the architecture, functionality, and infrastructure of the centralized, in-house proprietary system. Currently I am leading their development and architecture teams in designing solutions for their current issues.

McKesson Pharmacy Systems (formerly NDC Health, acquired in 2007) is a division of McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK) engaged in the development of pharmacy software systems for the chain and outpatient market.
Vice President New Product Development (2002 to March 2014)
Recruited by NDC Health COO (formerly COO of First Data Corporation). Initially chartered to create and organize a team to develop new products in Atlanta and Phoenix for NDC Health (now RelayHealth). Worked collaboratively with Product Management and Finance. Member of Senior Leadership Team.
* Assumed responsibility, as a member of the TechRx Acquisition Team to lead the technical due diligence prior to NDC Health's acquisition of TechRx in June 2002.
* Led the New Product Development Team comprised of up to 100 employees in Architecture, Development, Product Design, Project Management, and Quality Assurance, to conceptualize, develop, and launch EnterpriseRx, a cloud based, state-of-the-art retail pharmacy system for large chains.
* Developed processes, procedures, and functional designs and requirements for the EnterpriseRx product. Established a realistic project plan, and created a special task force to complete product requirements - while also creating an architectural blueprint from which the product would be built.
* Continuously identified market problems, regulatory requirements, and technical imperatives - and created business cases and design solutions to solve identified requirements of EnterpriseRx.
* Awarded President's Club "Chairman's Award" for successful release of EnterpriseRx.
* Created a business case and research to implement an enhanced user interface for EnterpriseRx, to dramatically reduce the training curve. Working with a Human Cognition company to help develop, communicate, and innovate this solution.
* Drove innovative solutions to integrate U.S. Pharma programs and products into the McKesson Pharmacy Systems & Automation portfolio - to drive sales for the Pharma division.
* Technologies: Oracle, Java, and Weblogic; experienced with hosted solution in Cloud technology.

Cytura was a spin off of Avio, Cytura Corporation developed content management and physician practice systems.
Vice President of Research and Development (1999 to 2002)
Responsible for all R&D activities and staff. Chartered with identifying and developing innovative, leading edge technology solutions that address evolving market opportunities and Cytura client requirements. Directed five teams of 30 people in Architecture, Database Services, Product Management, Content Management, and Foundation Services.
* Led the Cytura R&D team to develop and implement a Web publishing solution, which included Foundation Services, Site Builder, and Content Submission & Management. The architecture was developed using XML, COM+, Java, SQL Server, and Oracle.
AVIO INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION, INC. Maitland, FL
Avio International Corporation Inc. was a developer of physician office practice systems. The company was acquired by Shared Medical Systems (SMS, now Siemens) in 1999.
Vice President of Development (1997 to 1999)
Recruited to Avio by Microsoft's healthcare evangelist, John Carpenter. Directed five teams of 55 people in Database Services, Systems and Architecture, Patient Scheduling, Patient Billing, and Clinical Patient Records. As a member of the Executive Team, developed strategic plans and budgets and was involved in corporate growth strategy planning.
* Led teams in the development of Patient Scheduling, Billing, and Clinical applications using Microsoft DNA, COM, MTS, and SQL Server. The main programming language was Visual Basic.
* Along with the President, Thad Seymour, developed a plan to spin off a group to develop a product for Ford Motor Company (the contract with Ford was later taken over by Cytura Corporation).
PACE HEALTH MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS, INC. Des Moines, IA
PACE Health Management Systems was a start-up company that developed software for Nurse Care Plans.
Vice President of Technology (1995 to 1997)
Recruited to lead the development of PACE Clinical applications. These included the Clinical Repository, Clinical Management System, Clinical Pathway Analyzer and Knowledge Base. Led four teams of 60 people in Database Services, Systems and Architecture, and Clinical Management Development.
* Worked in partnership with Iowa State University on a grant to develop genetic algorithms that were used in the Clinical Pathway Analyzer product.
* Developed the Clinical Repository and the Clinical Pathway Analyzer from the ground up using the Microsoft family of products. Developed an architecture plan to migrate from UNIX to the Microsoft family of products.
FIRST DATA CORPORATION / AMERICAN EXPRESS HEALTH SYSTEMS GROUP, Charlotte, NC
First Data Corporation was a spin off of American Express Health Systems Group following the company's acquisition of McDonnell Douglas Health Systems Group, a market leader in the development of shared hospital systems.
Vice President of Systems Architecture and New Development (1992 - 1995)
Responsible for the development of client server applications. Chartered with the mission of defining and implementing the three-tier client server architecture. Led a team of C++ and 4GL programmers. In 1994, assumed responsibility for systems administration, database services, workstation support, and systems architecture.
* Fully responsible for research, development, and implementation of: Decision Support, Biller's Workbench, Patient Accounts Management, and Nursing systems. Used three-tier architecture: Microsoft Windows as the client, Tuxedo as the OLTPs, and MS SQL Server and Oracle as the relational databases.
Director of Patient Accounting Development (1989 to 1992)
Responsible for development and support of the Patient Accounting System on a combination of PC, UNIX, and mainframe platforms. Introduced a team of programmers to client server development. Successfully implemented two major online releases of the Patient Accounting System and received two quality awards from First Data.
