Executive Job Description
Our Client, a global restaurant chain is seeking their Vice President of Global Innovation and Chief Food Safety & Quality Officer. He /she will lead the global strategy and infrastructure support plan for food quality & safety management and R&D/new product development. This position will play a central role in ensuring product quality, global risk protection, and brand integrity by providing Global stewardship for R&D/Innovation and Food Safety & Quality issues with senior company management.

Research & Development/Innovation, Food Safety & Quality and oversee Culinary Innovation Network
Responsible for Internal Customers:
Regions and Business units, wider R&D team, FAF, OPS, Communications and Customers in our Restaurants.
Responsible for External Customers:
Senior IPC Staff, Regulatory agencies, DAs, Franchisees, Vendors
Education:
Bachelors. MBA preferred
Major or discipline(s):
Food Science, Food Quality or R&D/Innovation
A high level of both technical and operational knowledge of food systems and product quality.
Years of Experience
Minimum 15-20 years of senior global leadership experience with Food Quality and/or Safety and R&D/Innovation focus in the QSR or CPG industry.
Job Functions 
Lead and direct Food Quality and Safety areas, including product enhancements, new technologies as well as internal operational procedures.
Oversee strategic R&D planning to ensure the organization is a leader in consumer culinary trends and manage a continuous pipeline of products for all business dayparts that delivers against brand strategy of health, quality, value and indulgence. Ensure robust pipeline of new products exists in key Business Units.
Ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory activities related to product quality to protect brand integrity and promote positive initiatives pertaining to quality.
Oversee new product development process from ideation to system wide rollout. Develop accurate plans to ensure all projects meet strategic needs of the brand, are feasible for store operations and support both short and long term initiatives. Create a global Culinary Innovation Network (CIN) that utilizes expertise for the Company, IPCs, key supplier and local chefs.
Develop and manage internal quality organization, vendor relationships and quality practices as well as all quality related third party support functions.
Collaborate with multi-functional areas to commercialize any new product development to full rollout and ensure that the OPS/Marketing teams as well as suppliers and IPC are fully aligned on the development and execution.
Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to provide global strategies that align with the Companys Brand Transformation vision
Extensive experience in leading R&D food product innovation teams with effective and timely processes
Extensive experience in management of global Food Safety & Quality controls
Experience leading cross functional teams and overseeing a large network of partners, suppliers and vendors.
Interpretation of sales and research data, presentation skills, project management, communication skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills capable of articulating technical and complicated topics.
This position Reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer
