An opportunity for a seasoned thermoforming manufacturing professional to lead a 306K square feet plant in Thomaston, GA producing 2 million cases of food containers a year and converting 43 million pounds of resin annually. This plant represents 60 million in gross sales. Looking for the candidate that can create the winning value proposition for our customers.
Directs and coordinates overall plant operations. Ensures that objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements. Delegates authority to key manager/supervisors.
Directs and coordinates activities of plant to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits. Plans and develops organization policies and goals and implements goals through subordinate administrative personnel. Directs preparation of directives to division or department administrator outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented. Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems. Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems. Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products. Manages and evaluates performance of staff by coaching employees, conducting performance appraisals, administers discipline, training and development. Analyzes and determines manpower requirements, determines qualifications and individuals for hire, assigns and directs work, ensures proper safety equipment is worn and proper safety procedures are followed. Responsible for the safety of all plant employees. Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications in collaboration with other key people within and outside the plant.
Requirements: BS degree in Management Science or related field. 7 - 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment in a management position. Proven record in managing high speed production department. Communicate in English, plan, organize and prioritize work load, work independently or in team setting. Excellent communication, leadership, mathematical, computer and analytical skills.
