When I first discovered this company in 2000, it was a small 13-year-old company producing Electronic Medical Record Software to replace physicians’ traditional paper charts. I recognized that this would soon be a rapidly emerging market, so I determined to join the company as soon as possible. I accepted employment in December of 2002, and began working as the VP of Sales. At the time, the company was comprised of a few IT professionals, and a handful of sales representatives. As it became apparent that 2003 would become our breakout year, I assumed the role of VP of Human Resources to better manage staff growth and training. Recruiting was my key focus as the staff grew to support our explosive sales. As 2003 revenues grew from the previous year’s $2 million level to over $9 million, our staff grew from 24 to 150 by year’s end. I recruited IT professionals, software instructors, programmers, accountants, and marketers. I built and trained the Software Training department. But my primary contribution was, and still is, recruiting sales representatives, conducting sales training, and building the sales model. By 2004, the company needed me to take on additional responsibilities. As the Senior Vice President, I work closely with the COO, CFO, CIO, and CEO to build systems and structures that ensure that the business operates efficiently and predictably. This job title represents a cross-departmental mandate to address operational issues throughout the entire organization.

After buying the local franchise rights for an International Computer Training organization, I ran the company as its President, and operated the school in the capacity of General Manager. While my location grew, the international organization grew to be one of the world’s largest computer training organizations. I participated on an international level by delivering training sessions at regional and international conferences.
