EXPERIENCE
ASSURANT SOLUTIONS DEALERLINX 2006 – PRESENT Director of Strategic Alliances, Marketing, and Business Development * Established the strategies for a Web-based platform (DealerLinx) that can not only deliver profit from specialty insurance sales, but also reduce dealership costs by improving performance within all department operations. * Managed the development teams responsible for extending the definition and delivery of the current DealerLinx platform. * Managed the development of marketing and sales plans for RV, marine, motorcycle, trailer, power sports and automobile dealerships, including efforts to build the DealerLinx brand. * Consulted with company management to establish comprehensive business processes and a technology architecture capable of delivering against current business needs, and those of the business for the next five to ten years.
NEOSYNERGY LLC, WELLINGTON, FL 2004 - 2006 Director of Product Marketing and Management (Darwin ESB) * Delivered marketing activities for industry and customer awareness which has resulted in increased company investment and dealer purchase opportunities for a start-up Web-based dealer management solution (Darwin XE), consumer-dealer eCommerce solution (Darwin Exchange), and car company integration solution (Darwin ESB). * Opened business development opportunities with car manufacturers and other system providers/partners for NeoSynergy solutions to deliver a potential dealer customer market of 20,000+ dealers. * Delivered a high impact and highly successful NADA (National Automobile Dealers Association) convention and exposition presence including high-tech booth to kick-off the introduction of company solutions. Over 150 potential dealer customers (with over 500 potential retail sites) were identified from among the over 8,000 dealers and dealership managers that attended. * Delivered a NADA convention workshop on how the right solutions can save dealers money and increase profits.
REYNOLDS & REYNOLDS, DAYTON, OH 1995 – 2003 Director, Manufacturer Initiatives * Grew an integration oriented product line to over $50 MM (from $35 MM) over eight years while reducing staff budget from over $6.5 MM to under $4.5 MM. This business included the management of product managers and the coordination of a technical staff (development and test/quality) in both local and remote development sites. * Developed a comprehensive new business strategy for data services, which included combining all internal and external data movement activities into a single service organization. This new business venture grew to deliver about $3 MM in annual top line revenue in its first three years. Senior Product Manager, Year 2000 * Managed efforts to reach Year 2000 (Y2K) readiness for all systems and products touching internal automotive division employees (1000) and customers (7000), and protect the annual company revenues of just under $1 billion. o Refined development life cycle processes to include Y2K efforts. o Developed and implemented end of life strategies for products that would not be supported beyond 1999. o Obtained ITAA (Information Technology Association of America) Y2K Certification for Reynolds and Reynolds. This certification was used at Reynolds and Reynolds to ensure Y2K readiness. Senior Manager, Information Management * Managed initial development of the system used to assess and improve customer satisfaction (Voice of the Customer, VOC). The closed-loop problem resolution process in this system helped to raise the customer satisfaction index over 10%. * Managed development and support of a PC (laptop) based sales information support tool (SIMS). Productivity improvements from the SIMS implementation resulted in a 10% reduction in direct sales force personnel, development of a new “enterprise” focused sales department, and a direct increase in enterprise account sales of over $10 MM in its first year.
VATECH, CINCINNATI, OH 1991 - 1995 Partner * Responsible for and managed all company business activities (about $1 MM per year in revenue) with Digital Equipment Company (DEC). o Participated as one of the four key developers of a real-time data acquisition and monitoring system for aircraft engines for GE Aircraft Engines (TEAM System), and delivered key training to GE personnel on system usage and programming. o Assisted in the development and deployment of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) at Eli Lilly. o Delivered training to rehabilitation counselors throughout the State of Ohio. o Assisted in the development of a Sales Information Management System (SIMS) for sales force automation at Reynolds and Reynolds.
INTERNATIONAL TECHNEGROUP INC., MILFORD, OH 1984 - 1991 Director, Engineering Software Integration * Managed business unit focused at providing integrated software solutions for discreet part manufacturers in the automotive industry. Our RAPID methodology for sizing and managing large scale integration projects brought follow-on projects of over $150,000 to $1 MM each. o Acted as the Director of Information Systems during the startup process of a joint venture automotive parts manufacturer. o Developed long-term CAD/CAM/CAE strategy with an international automotive parts manufacturer. o Developed a system for the exchange of technical information between manufacturers and their suppliers (Customer/Supplier Hub).
