Responsibilities included product concept and system design, hardware and software engineering, image processing algorithm development, documentation, and clinical validation in an ISO 13485 environment, as well as budget management, recruitment of direct employees and technical consultants, scientific liaison with clinicians, and intellectual property development.
Completed engineering development and released first commercial product. Gained management and board approval and developed enhanced, second generation prototype (full-field, multi-wavelength laser) for potential screening application. Wrote two omnibus patent applications with 100+ claims covering new art in optical delivery and image processing.
Led development of state-of-the-art image and signal processing algorithms operating in both spatial and temporal domains involving de-noising filters, solutions to inverse problem, and Bayesian-based pattern classifiers to reduce artifact, reconstruct tomosynthesis image sets, and improve differentiation of malignant v. benign cases.

Managed product launch of innovative digital x-ray detector for new and digital upgrade systems. Developed website, product literature, pricing structure, trade PR coverage and tradeshow exposure for OEM and VAR customer segments. Cultivated, negotiated and managed first OEM customer contracts and international product deliveries.
Created quantitative stochastic model of x-ray photon propagation, enabling accurate prediction of anticipated device performance.
