Business Development:

Advised top company executives on corporate development strategy including introduction of new account management approach, services and account integration, and reduction of division “silos” leading to the reorganization of this 1,200 person company around strategic corporate objectives.

Authored and presented proposals for new business within the Department of State, Secret Service and created recommendations for additional technology and business process solutions contract work to Department of Homeland Security /Bureau of Citizens Services and Department of Labor senior management. Presented and sold technical and business process solutions to current and new government customers and then led selected engagements.

Consulting Projects Management:

Program Manager for Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs. This ITOP IDIQ program includes full lifecycle software and systems development, eGovernment initiatives, systems and operations assessments, technical staff outsourcing services, and business process reengineering (BPR). Programs managed include:

* eGovernment interagency visa operations strategy development – to achieve improved interagency visa adjudication processes. Facilitated senior management team from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Bureau of Citizen Services (BCIS), Department of Labor (DOL), Department of State (DoS) and White House Domestic Policy Council through full operations and technology assessment and shared solution.

* Provided project thought leadership for full software and systems development lifecycles using the J2EE, web-based, software platform and Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodologies. Instituted design concepts and guidance for new technology and reengineered processes to improve government visa operations.

* Administered contracts, subcontractor agreements, contract and funding changes, task delivery milestones, work breakdown structures (WBS), customer program reviews (IPR’s), and security requirements

* Visa security advisory opinion process staffing support - to ensure visa applicants are properly screened by US security agencies before US consulates authorize immigration into the USA. Introduced first process metrics and reporting on this important process which is now relied upon by senior executives including the Assistant Secretary of Consular Affairs.

Business Process Reengineering (BPR) Leader:

Led company BPR strategic service area proposal, assessment and process redesign efforts. Provided formal client services team training as recognized corporate BPR Subject Matter Expert (SME).


PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS LLP (1999 – 2001)

Operations Strategy Consultant:

Operations strategy consultant to the world’s largest semiconductor, entertainment and network systems companies including: Sun Microsystems, Lam Research, Sony Entertainment and Cisco Systems for this Big-Five management consulting company.

Very quickly learned client business strategies and operations, conducted sophisticated analyses, designed solutions and led business improvement teams in technical environments to achieve aggressive business performance goals.

Major Business Improvements:

* Sold $2.4 million eBusiness transformation project and then led project team through full life-cycle global information system redesign, process improvement and workflow technology project as a major part of the overall transformation. This $19 billion network computing company gained a significantly faster, more accurate, global forecasting system.

* Led 30 person major semiconductor capital equipment company team through $250K proposal-response process reengineering, organization and technology improvement project, resulting in 45% reduction of pre-shipment product configuration changes and 66% configuration cycle time reduction. Project team included input from sales, marketing, engineering and manufacturing. This $4 billion company gained a faster, more agile, more profitable order-management system and better pre-sales customer collaboration. Sold add-on consulting work, nearly doubling initial project revenues.

* Provided project management for design and implementation of a remote, web-based, Configuration and Quotation Tool with SAP integration. The tool allows field sales to collaboratively create and quote complex, $6milllion, semiconductor capital equipment configurations at customer locations - and immediately transmit the completed configurations and quotes into SAP via the web.

* All implementation projects that I led came in on time and on budget.

Recruited by Board of Directors to and achieve corporate growth for this three year old start-up consumer products company. Track record of continuous innovation and strategic initiatives.

Developed improved product lines and consumer sales strategies, guided company toward more profitable distribution channels, and developed sales information systems resulting in sales growth of 50% in six months.


FRAMERATE CORPORATION (1995-1997)

Captain, Military Sealift Command:

Distinguished career with rapid promotions from JUNIOR OFFICER through FIRST (EXECUTIVE) OFFICER from 1979-1985. Then, promoted to command five different ships at sea, providing strategic sealift and special mission support for forward deployed military forces around the world. Provided leadership, management and safety of 175 personnel and $200 million ships along with motivation of culturally diverse crew and officers in challenging environments. Effectively managed specialized shipboard technologies, maritime labor, marine engineering, operating budgets, training, regulatory issues and service contractors.

Government sector experience included: battle-group logistics, strategic sealift, deep ocean survey, oceanographic research and global defense logistics operations. Interfaced with the Oceanographer of the Navy, Commander Military Sealift Command, Commander Sixth Fleet, Naval Sea Systems Command, world-wide defense logistics teams, US consulates and international port agents to solve business and operations issues.

* Recipient of the 1989 MSC Distinguished Career Award – by Vice Admiral Commander (COMSC).

* Honored as youngest Captain in Military Sealift Command and youngest Master Mariner in the US.
