Full P&L responsibility includes establishing and maintaining relationships with senior client executives, and building and managing local sales and delivery teams required to achieve aggressive operating plan.

2000 – 2003 Senior Manager, Finance and Performance Management Global Service Line

Practice director for the Company's Performance Management Solutions offerings. Responsible for developing and maintaining firm assets supporting sales and delivery of performance management capabilities, balanced scorecards, management reporting, executive dashboards and other business intelligence applications. Lead a core team of 8-10 executives, with an extended team of around 150 people deployed globally. Sales contribution of $10MM across the energy, government, and electronics and high tech industry verticals in FY2002.

• Developed an innovative approach to financial and tax reporting for the controller of a $200 billion super-major energy company. The solution utilizes a custom data warehouse to capture, consolidate, and report financial information on a global basis. The project team of 20 were located in multiple, low cost geographies across the world and managed centrally, which saved the company close to $2 million from their initially planned implementation costs.

• Led an opportunity assessment for the controller of a $3 billion medical device manufacturer to identify process and technology improvements in the finance and cost accounting area. The work allowed the company to reduce the financial close and consolidation process by half, and dramatically increase the quality of financial and management analysis performed. Key focus areas included business planning, performance management, management reporting, and consolidations.

• Worked directly with the CFO of a $28 billion telecommunications equipment manufacturer to develop a new business planning and performance management capability. The solution utilizes robust scenario modeling and what-if analysis to establish top-down targets, with a collaborative, web based application to support bottom up budget development. The new planning capability is expected to reduce the time and efforts spent on budget development by 40 percent and significantly increase the ability to accurately forecast earnings for the investment community.

• Program director for an organizational strategy assessment for the Finance organization of a $13 billion consumer products company. Worked with the company’s senior management team to assess the Finance organization, including the financial shared services center, business analysis group, and IT strategy. The team then developed recommendations, and created an action plan to align the Finance organization and IT strategy with the company’s business strategy. A business case with a $92MM NPV and a 57% ROIC for the project was subsequently approved by the chief operating officer.

• Featured speaker and guest lecturer at internal firm conferences, as well as university MBA programs and faculty briefings on a variety of topics including performance management, business intelligence software market and ERP application trends.


1997 – 2000 Manager, Global Energy Practice

• Directed an $8 million transformation program to develop a business performance reporting solution for a $3 billion energy transportation company. Staffed and managed a team that delivered a web-based suite of applications and data warehouse of key performance metrics, analytical reports, and business information to approximately 1200 user’s desktop. Considered a “defining engagement” within my company, the solution has been showcased to multiple clients across the world.

• Finance team lead for a $70MM SAP implementation at a $3 billion energy transportation company. Built and managed a team of approximately 25 client and consulting personnel and 8000 workdays through the design, build, and rollout of new SAP R/3 4.6 application. In addition to my responsibilities as the Finance team lead, I also coordinated the cross team planning activities to develop project estimates, workplans, and integrated resource models for the broader 60,000 workday effort.

• Design and build manager for a large SAP R/3 implementation for the E&P business of a super-major integrated oil company. Responsible for building and managing a team of 60 people through design, configuration, testing and cutover. Modules included FI, CO, MM, IS-Oil, PM, PS, and HR.

• Integration test manager for a SAP R/3 implementation for a US based energy company. Responsible for defining the overall testing approach, and leading the testing team through a multi-pass integration test for the following SAP modules: FI, CO, MM, IS-Oil, PM, PS, and HR.

• Project manager for a shared service center high spot review. In one month, we institutionalized process measurement, restructured their shared services organization, and implemented numerous SAP changes. With our help, they eliminated a six-month AP backlog and rectified manufacturing issues by working with key raw material and utility vendors.


1994 – 1997 Senior Consultant, Global Energy Practice

• Mapped the company wide interface architecture for a $35 billion energy conglomerate, in advance of an Oracle financials implementation. Based on the existing architecture, I developed a cost effective interface strategy to move operational data to the new financial systems.

• Designed conversion programs in support of an SAP implementation and ran the corporate conversion, the first sight live as part of a $100 million plus SAP implementation.

• Developed technical and business operating model for the order-to-cash business process at a $9 billion conglomerate, identifying approximately $12 million in annual cost savings through process improvements and working capital reductions.

1992 – 1994 Analyst, Systems Integration

• Programmed batch and online program modules for a custom ERP application at a $10 billion food distribution company. Trained new programmers on the 100 person programming team in coding standards and debugging techniques.
