INGERSOLL-RAND COMPANY, Woodcliff Lake, NJ 1979 - 2000 An $8.5 billion manufacturer of non-electric machinery and equipment with operations in over 250 locations worldwide. Products include bearings and components, locks and door hardware, air compressors, compactors, rock and rotary drills, road machinery, skid steer loaders, mini-excavators, temperature control equipment, pumps, tools and golf cars.
Controller - Accounting and Reporting (1993-2000) Assistant Comptroller (1984-1993)
· Reduced closing cycle from 8 days to 4 days. (This re-engineering process was a finalist in the "Reach Awards Program" of CFO Magazine.) · Created and presented alternate accounting proposals to the Office of the Chief Accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission. · Established an "International Holding Company" located in the Netherlands, to effectively utilize cash and tax strategies for European affiliates. · Organized two Liability Management Companies, which generated potential tax savings of $100 million. · Led internal and external teams in the analysis, structure and execution of M&A, joint ventures and divestitures both domestically and internationally. · Designed the reporting system to control the delivery of common administrative resources to all domestic business units for a newly established (shared services) entity.
