A highly leveraged global manufacturer and distributor of forest products and industrial resins, formaldehyde, coatings and various specialty chemicals. Annual sales of $1.4 billion with 28 plants in the U.S. and 21 plants in Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific. Although privately owned since it was acquired by KKR in 1994, the Company continues to be an SEC registrant because of its outstanding public debt.
Corporate/Global Controller (June 1996 - December 2002)
Directed global accounting, reporting, financial planning and operations analysis functions. Interpreted and applied GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, prepared monthly financial statements with commentary for CEO and board of directors, prepared SEC filings, documented and maintained global financial policies and procedures, provided technical guidance to all domestic and international business units, performed monthly SAP closings and consolidation of all business units worldwide, provided technical oversight for plant and product cost accounting, established and maintained a strong internal control environment. Directed the Borden, Inc. Corporate Accounting and Reporting Department.
