2001 – Present
PepsiAmericas New Berlin, WI Marketing Equipment Manager/Facility & Warehouse Manager
PepsiAmericas is the second largest Pepsi-Cola anchor bottler in the world, distributing Pepsi products and equipment to the Wisconsin market.
I was recruited to develop cost containment standards and restructure the department to support the sales goals. When I arrived, the capital equipment spending was in excess of $4.8M a year, supporting sales of $36M. In less than five years, I have reduced capital dollars spending to less than $2M, supporting sales of $46M.
I restructured the service department by reallocating headcount, which made it possible to startup a full second shift and eliminate more than $100K annually in overtime dollars. I was also able to staff an additional manager for a newly consolidated warehouse. This new location added more than 4,000 customers to the existing database of more than 3,500 customers. The consolidation saved more than $50K in parts room carrying costs.
o Full P&L responsibility of a $7.8M operating budget, maintaining cost containment for five consecutive years
o I lead three managers and a staff of three to coordinate the service and sales support activities of more than 75 employees at seven warehouses in the Wisconsin Division
o I oversee the processing of more than 33,000 service calls and more than 1,000 preventative maintenance calls annually generating more than $2M
o I was responsible for the site selection, design and startup of a new warehouse and distribution center located in New Berlin. Through proper organization and workflow, increased throughput more than 30% in first year alone, from 2,000 to more than 2,600 equipment moves, and have continued to support sales growth plans by more than 6% each additional year
o I have reduced the inventory on the floor from six weeks to two weeks, more than 1,200 assets to less than 400 assets, and still met internal and external customer needs, saving more than $100K monthly in carrying and preparation costs
o I am entrusted to build and maintain strong relationships with our prestige venues. Although sales were generally flat, 2% increase/year during the past four years, through new product introductions and aggressive pricing, the profit margin contributions have increased more than 6% per year during the past four years.
o I coordinated the complete installation of three major new accounts in less than one week each. Two of the accounts were exclusive with our top competitor for more than twenty years and required more than 60 vending machines, 20 merchandising coolers, and 20 fountain units.
