9/01 – Present Division II Vice President of Operations Responsible for the vision and direction of the operations department, which includes purchasing, warehousing & logistics as well as systems & quality planning. Three direct reports with additional staff of 11. Established metrics for warehouse and purchasing to identify areas of improvement. Achieved complete division transition from Outlook to Notes for greater efficiency. Eliminated $17 milllion in liquidation goods during the six month period ending Feb. 2004. Decreased inventory from 68 days on hand to 38 days on hand, or a net reduction of $40 million. Put processes in place to change shipping from a $1 million loss in FY2002 to a net profit in FY2003. Notes® database effort resulted in recapture of $1.5 million in aged receiving discrepancies. Sponsored Quality Initiative to create effieciency through reduced rebilling and reduced RMAs.
8/00 – 8/01 Division I, Director, Business Operations Managed purchasing department of 5 Buyers. Responsible for maximizing company cash flow by reducing non-selling goods and increasing availability of high turnover items. Planned and implemented reduction of good inventory by 25%, or a net reduction of $15 million. Orchestrated elimination of over $30 million in defective equipment. Developed means to monitor inventory, purchase orders and backorders so that product mix is optimized. Began automation project for the purchasing department with an EDI implementation.
10/99 – 8/00 Division I Director of Product Management Managed sales and marketing of a $262 million business unit for the company in the US and Canada. Planned and executed the marketing and sales strategies for the line. Managed four direct reports, 3 in USA and 1 in Canada. Also, integral part of sales management team leading 40 sales reps and 5 district managers in USA. Captured 45% - 55% of line's two-tier marketshare every quarter, increasing from trailing 12 month market share of 40% - 43%. Responsible for 60% of Division's revenue and 55% of profit. Launch of DSL product line resulted in sales of $750,000 with 19% margin.
6/99 – 10/99 Group Level, Director of Business Management and Sales Operations Developed programs for profitable growth. Decided validity of variances from standard processes, such as buy backs, unusual returns and extended term arrangements. Negotiated with vendors and customers to provide for increase in top line profit by 1% GPM. Saved company $1.5m in a 4-month period. Maximized efforts in collection of close to $800,000 in write-offs. Analyzed company's business versus competitors business to produce corporate financial presentation for internal and external use.
4/97 – 6/99 Division I Senior Product Manager Supervised other product managers. Responsible for multiple successful product launches. Developed tools to promote awareness internally and to customers. Catalyzed sales of line by examining opportunities to change company in addition to marketing efforts. VPN initiatives captured 20% of vendor’s worldwide VPN revenue CY1999. Enlarged scope of Integration Department resulting in increase of line profitability by 15%. Developed programs that resulted in increasing service revenue threefold and profit twofold. Increased sales of routers to $18m while keeping margins consistently high.
4/94 – 4/97 Division I, Product Manager Created excitement internally for various products including cat 5 cable, layer 2 switching and multi-protocol routers. Developed and implemented marketing programs broadening customer base. Increased sales of switch line from $500,000 per quarter to $750,000 per quarter. Maintained margins in excess of 20% on historically 17% GPM product mix. Grew router line from launch to $12m in 1.5 years while maintaining margins of 15% – 18%. Devised new service strategy resulting in $43m in extra profits over 3 years.

8/92 – 6/93 College Bureau of Economic Research, Research Assistant Invited by Economics professor to help with data mining and analysis. Maintained and interpreted information about economic activity in New York's Hudson Valley Region. Designed and automated format for quarterly reports. Defined high technology firm agglomerations using SIC codes enabling more efficient research. Wrote SAS programs to extract data from government sources increasing scope of research materials used for Bureau work. Implemented methods for on time delivery of reports while increasing content. 4/89 – 4/93 Proprietership Built a window cleaning company by establishing both commercial and residential accounts.
