Recruited by founder, Chairman, President (CEO), and Chief Investment Officer (CIO), as a direct report and potential CEO-successor for this [$] billion global hedge fund. Member of the Executive Management Team and permanent advisor to the three-member Management Committee.
Selected as part of a two-year succession plan that entailed a complete transformation of the existing management structure and operating philosophy. Challenged to help execute the transformation, stabilize troubled departments, develop proprietary psychometric assessments, and launch a world-class end-to-end talent management program.

Executive Management
* As a direct report to Chairman, CEO, and CIO, participated in extensive departmental operational drill downs, restructurings, and turnarounds for several departments including information technology, human resources, facilities, accounts management, and research.
* As a member of the Executive Management Team, helped implement the rollout of the new organizational design and proprietary management system based on a codified and systematic management philosophy developed by the CEO to ensure and perpetuate the firm's excellence and success.
* As an attendee at all Management Committee meetings, provided views and recommendations on a diverse set of firm-wide and departmental issues.
* Sponsored and helped design and launch a world-class end-to-end talent management program. This multi-year, multi-million dollar project allows the firm to identify and attract exceptional talent, dramatically accelerate development, and maximize performance. The proprietary program was built using leading-edge methodologies and best practices.
* Developed a proprietary psychometric assessment battery for use in external candidate selection and internal executive development. 2005-2007 NYSE-LISTED GLOBAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE COMPANY
Senior Vice President - Corporate Development & Strategy
Recruited to head M&A, strategy and corporate development, as a direct report to the CEO, for this $16 billion international wireless communications infrastructure and real estate company. Customers include: AT&T/Cingular, Verizon, Sprint, Alltel, MetroPCS, Clearwire, XM Satellite, Telstra and Vodafone.
Challenged to start up and build both a corporate strategy and an M&A program given the company's prior five-year focus on operational excellence and organic growth.
Mergers & Acquisitions
* Completed the $5.8 billion acquisition of Global Signal (NYSE: GSL), the third largest company in the industry, returning the company to its position as market leader.
* Led the over $300 million acquisition of Mountain Union Telecom, a privately held telecommunications company. The transaction was the company's first stock purchase in over five years.
* Oversaw the $1.5 billion merger between FiberTower (NASDAQ: FTWR) and First Avenue Networks (NASDAQ: FRNS) as part of responsibility for business portfolio management.
* Managed a pipeline of telecommunication tower deals under exclusive letter of intent worth over $0.5 billion.
* Established a mezzanine financing program for tower developers which provided Crown a call option on all financed real estate assets.
* Invested substantial effort in the creation of a formalized tower acquisition program. The program was heavily focused on operational due diligence, transaction management, and post-acquisition integration.
Corporate Strategy
* Designed and helped code a customized enterprise knowledge management software application and a corporate development and strategy portal for the board and top 100 executives.

Recruited to join Goldman's real estate principal investment group for the Summer.
* Actively involved in all aspects of the Fund's effort to effect a recapitalization of Cadillac Fairview, a multi-billion dollar Canadian diversified real estate company. Whitehall purchased approximately $215 million (26%) of the bank facilities debt in the distressed high yield market to ensure control over the recapitalization process. Involved in development of the restructuring proposal which involved complex securities, bankruptcy issues, tax structuring, strategy formulation, and valuation judgments.
* Facilitated contract negotiations, due diligence, and financing of a $600 million leveraged acquisition of a private national real estate company. Presence of due-on-sale provisions in 86 mortgages required negotiations with over 24 lenders. Involved in mortgage negotiation strategy sessions. Solicited take-out financing bids from national banks and finance companies. Evaluated feasibility of a debt securitization.
* Evaluated $187 million growth equity investment in a major New York real estate company.
