Implemented Burlington’s change in parcel carriers from UPS to FedEx. The system and process changes impacted virtually all operations including transportation, distribution centers, stores, e-commerce, vendor relations, accounts payables, payroll, accounting and mailroom. The projected annual savings was $3 million.

BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY Project Manager (Nov 2009 - May 2010)
Delivered the systems for a new fully automated distribution center. The existing warehouse systems were replaced with a new solution to support Burlington’s new regional distribution model. The distribution opened on schedule and within budget.
Systems - Manhattan Associates WMOS (DB, Application, EIS, Web and PM Servers), interfaces to Dematic MHE, proprietary merchandise systems, and Oracle Financials.
Project Team - Burlington staff from SCM, Warehouse and IT; and resources from Fortna and Manhattan. Project Tracks:
• Coordinated 3rd party efforts including Manhattan Associates, Fortna, Dematic and independent consultants • Managed the setup of different Manhattan WMOS environments for development, QA, training and production, along with the transitions between environments • Planned and led all aspects of testing including System, User Acceptance, Operational Readiness, Volume and Failover Testing • Planned and led the data conversion and loading of production data • Facilitated the requirements of Key Stakeholders
APLICOR Researcher and Author (Jun 2009 - Mar 2010)
Researched and wrote articles on SCM best practices to be used for marketing Aplicor’s solutions.
MERVYNS DEPARTMENT STORE Project Manager and SCM System Analyst (Jun 2007 - Feb 2008)
Fixed the flow of imported merchandise from Asian suppliers to west coast distribution centers. Systems and processes were changed to integrate information timely and accurately, provide early visibility to problems, and expeditiously resolve exceptions. The delays were virtually eliminated.
• Systems - Manhattan Associates PKMS, JDA Retail Solutions (MMS, E3, Allocations and Enterprise Planning), Inovis (EDI 850, 856, 315, 223 and 214) and a custom SCM workbench • Project Tracks - Before system changes were completed a temporary triage was setup to resolve product delays; systems and processes changed to monitor overseas shipments, interface shipment schedules with de-consolidators, and process inbound distribution center shipments • Project Team - Mervyns merchandise and SCM staff, JDA staff, Manhattan Associates staff, and contract software developers
MERVYNS DEPARTMENT STORE Engagement Manager (Feb 2006 - Jun 2007)
Managed and coordinated staffing requirements for the project to spin-off Mervyns from Target. Project scope included JDA (MMS, E3, Author Allocations) implementation, Manhattan PKMS implementation, Store Systems, Data Center, and Data Conversions.
ARBY’S RESTAURANT GROUP Project Manager and Analyst (May 2005 - Feb 2006)
Consolidated Arby’s corporate systems with the systems of their two largest franchise holding companies, supporting plans to form a new company - Arby’s Restaurant Group (ARG). ARG was up and operating on schedule with all systems requirements completed.
• Project Tracks - Consolidated field offices, moved corporate offices, ensured Sarbanes Oxley compliance, built a new datacenter, and implemented Ultimate Software Groups PR, HR software • Tasks - Facilitated the requirements of the key stakeholders, assessed needs, planned projects, led cross functional teams, led IT and QA efforts • Project Team - Arby’s Accounting, HR and IT staff, and Ultimate Software Team
DICKS SPORTING GOODS Project Manager (Aug 2004 - Feb 2005)
Consolidated supply chain systems resulting from Dicks Sporting Goods acquisition of Galyan Sports. The challenge was changing Dicks Sporting Goods distribution model from a single distribution center to multi-distribution centers; while at the same time, integrating all the Galyans’ stores, inventory and personnel. The project was completed on time, meeting all planned objectives.
• Systems - InFor WMS, JDA (MMS, E3, and Allocations), Oracle Financials, and Micro Strategy Business Intelligences • Project Tracks - System interfaced to accommodate multiple DCs, implemented WMS software and hardware, transferred merchandise between DCs, and converted Galyans’ data • Project Team - Dicks’ IT, QA and SCM staff, and JDA consultants
GART SPORTS Project Manager and SCM Analyst (Aug 2003 - Apr 2004)
Defined requirements and led the efforts to integrate Sports Authority’s (SA) supply chain systems into Gart’s retail and merchandise systems as part of Gart’s acquisition of SA. The objective was to integrate Gart’s and SA’s systems within 4 months. The project was completed on time, and all distribution centers continued operating on normal schedules throughout the merger.
• Systems - JDA (MMS, E3, Allocations and Store Systems), Manhattan Associates PKMS and Premonos EDI • Project Tracks - Configured PKMS for 3 DCs, developed interfaces, and enhanced store transfers • Tasks - Assembled a project team, brought Garts SCM and IT teams up to speed on the TSA model, developed implementation plans, led IT efforts, and kept the DC operating on a normal schedule throughout the transition
SPORTS AUTHORITY Project Manager and SCM Analyst (Nov 2002 - Aug 2003)
Took charge of the efforts to get Sports Authority’s (SA) new distribution center initiative back on track (after falling behind schedule); which included the implementation of all system infrastructure, warehouse systems, processes, and interfaces with host and store systems. The DC was implemented on-time, within budget, and without interruptions to the supply chain while achieving the reduced gross margin objectives.

Leading and taking full responsibility for large complex system initiatives transformed my clients’ organizations to be more global, efficient and competitive.
