Recognized for creating teams ranging in size from 20 to 200 with local and offshore facilities, including seven years experience building high performing offshore teams from scratch in multiple locations. An effective leader who understands business and utilizes his breadth and depth of knowledge in outsourcing, data and information management, application development, and technology operations to deliver outstanding results.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

CENTRIC CONSULTING LLC, Chicago IL 2008 - Current

HEWITT ASSOCIATES LLC, Lincolnshire, IL 1989 - 2007
HR BPO Leader – Reporting and Information Management 2004 - 2007
Established a global shared service organization focused on data warehouse delivery and information management for HR Outsourcing division. This integration effort combined four onshore teams into one group, consolidated offshore teams, and standardized tool sets. (e.g. Cognos, Informatica, and UDB).

* Built team from approximately 30 to 75 employees in North America to aid rapid expansion in the HR Outsourcing business and oversaw compensation budget over $5.5 million. This growth supported information management implementations for 13 new clients and ongoing work for the existing client base.
* Engaged Indian leadership in both Mumbai and Gurgaon and led the growth of the offshore team from 6 employees to over 75. This initiative involved setting the vision for the team, multiple trips to India, and ongoing interactions with local group leaders.
* Identified opportunity and saved over $1 million in the first year by reducing contractor costs and providing full leverage of internal resources.
* Leveraged offshore team by moving 50% of new and existing work from North America and in the process reduced annual compensation and contractor costs by approximately $4.5 million. This team was viewed by senior leadership as one of the most effective offshore groups within Hewitt.
* Managed relationships with both onshore and offshore contracting firms and oversaw approximately 75 contractors and a $4 million budget.
* Collaborated with internal IT organization to establish Service Level Agreements across a range of infrastructure services supporting information management. This initiative drove key quality metrics and enabled a proactive approach to resolving problems in advance of client impact.

Global Practice Leader – Consulting Technology 2001 – 2004
Responsible for 60 person team and driving overall technology strategy and application development for Hewitt’s Talent and Organizational Consulting (TOC) line of business. This included responsibility for 15 internally and externally focused web-based applications. (e.g. www.totalcompensationcenter.com)

* Launched the first Hewitt technology team in Gurgaon, India which supported TOC’s global business. The initial projects saved over $500,000 annually, provided quicker turn around time on key business initiatives, and set the stage for further growth.
* Established strategy and enabled the move of TOC J2EE applications to a common architecture using IBM’s WebSphere application server and UDB and Informix database platforms. This provided reduced time to market, reduced maintenance, and enabled greater code reuse.


Global Practice Leader – Consulting Technology continued:
* Guided teams delivering Hewitt’s first multi-lingual web applications. These sites delivered content, data, and user interfaces in multiple languages which created opportunities to expand its global business in over a dozen countries.
* Formalized team goals, career paths, onboarding processes, and training curriculums for the team which resulted in a highly engaged and focused group of employees and high retention rates.

Global Delivery Group Manager 1999 – 2001
Responsible for a 20 person technology team supporting Hewitt’s TOC Analytics group. The primary initiative was delivering web-based analytics and reporting applications focused on total compensation.

* Reengineered and led move to electronic data collection for the executive compensation group. This initiative allowed Hewitt to move from a highly manual and paper-oriented process to a purely electronic and automated process. Hewitt expanded from a US-based process to a global process incorporating data from 15+ countries around the world. This enabled additional growth in global revenue and simultaneously reduced costs.
* Served as key technology leader and business liaison driving the rollout of Hewitt’s first global intranet application across Europe, Asia, and North America. This application replaced a legacy mainframe system, provided tight integration with the data collection process, and enabled a centralized data repository.

Unit Manager 1994 – 1999
Managed client implementation team responsible for requirements and implementation of client/server-based compensation analysis systems.

* Accountable for overall project management, requirements, training, and transition to the ongoing operations group for 150 clients throughout North America.
* Built strong client relationships with key leaders and end users at client organizations and built expertise in compensation theory and implementation.

Systems Analyst 1989 – 1994
Software development and analysis role in compensation technology group. This broad role involved software development, project management, business analysis, providing user training, and ongoing support.

* Gathered requirements and developed complex compensation forecasting system later implemented at over 50 clients. This module became a top seller and catalyst for overall $500K in sales.
* Responsible for all project phases related to systems implementation at 25+ client sites.

NCR CORPORATION, Springfield, IL 1987 – 1989
Systems engineer working as an individual contributor on midrange systems providing software development, system tuning, and software sales support. Responsible for systems installation, support, performance analysis, and technical pre-sale on NCR’s 9800 system.
