DIRECTOR, PENSION ASSET MANAGEMENT (1 Year) Consolidated merged companies' pension and savings plans and improved the management of pension assets of $900 million and 401(k) assets of $270 million.
* Implemented plan to improve pension plan investment returns by over 100 bps by reviewing performance of pension investment managers and outsourcing of management of $500 million U.S. and Canadian pension plan assets to a new pension plan investment manager.
* Led project to merge two 401(k) plans, selecting administrator and improving investment options.
* Coordinated the funding recommendations with the actuaries and accountants to improve the pension funded status and develop asset allocation/liability studies worldwide.
MANAGER, PENSION AND INSURANCE (3 Years) Led the development of the global risk management insurance program and oversaw $400 million of pension and 401(k) asset management for the spin-off company.

* Recommended changes in the coverage, self-insured limits, insurance deductibles, and limits based on changes in the business and insurance markets.

* Directed four-month project with Andersen Consulting which developed a five-year plan for installation of new integrated business systems, tying to business and competitive strategies and quantifying cost/benefits.
* Supported a $25 million new plant start-up by identifying risks early.
* Led activity-based cost management project to determine accuracy of standard costs, focus attention on "cost drivers," and proactively report key performance indicators.
