MISSISSIPPI CHEMICAL CORPORATION, Yazoo City, Mississippi 1998 - 2005 A $500 million, publicly held, manufacturer of agricultural fertilizers and industrial chemicals, with operations in the U.S. and Trinidad. Completed $400 million Chapter 11 reorganization and was acquired by Terra Industries, Inc.
VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE (2004 2005) Chief financial executive, reporting to board of directors. Identified by board and external crisis management firm to head 27-person financial and information technology team. Charged with navigating the Chapter 11 proceeding while rebuilding the financial function and systems of the Company. Managed all financial operations including, SEC reporting, treasury, tax, investor relations, risk management, and information technology.
Negotiated and closed the successful sale of the company to a strategic buyer for more than $350 million. Managed post-acquisition transition and integration of financial operations.
