Responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the first commercial digital cinema in North America. Developed a media distribution process and infrastructure for digital cinema (patent pending) including: compression, IP streaming, content transport, DVD mastering, network infrastructure, conditional access, digital rights management, on-demand programming, and customer feedback functions. Trained operations, theater, and head office staff to use point of sale and data mining systems in addition to basic computer skills and more advanced use of groupware. Responsible for the evaluation and testing of transmission, compression, recording/playback, camera, and projection equipment for suitability under our business model. Developed a digital cinema system that cost well under the industry projected (in 2001) $350k per theater screen. Responsible for the refurbishment and installation of projection booth equipment, theater auditorium equipment installation and calibration, POS, and key physical plant systems such as power, HVAC, acoustics, telephony, computer network infrastructure. Developed a strategy to integrate the company's marketing and data mining needs with the web and POS systems. Responsible for web development and systems integration group. Integrated POS and web site for online ticket sales and CRM. Also planned integration of direct internet credit card validation for POS system with vendor.
