Responsible for all aspects of Information Technology and Telecommunications for this $400 Million integrated delivery system comprised of a 209-bed Acute Care hospital, four Medical Office buildings, two Urgent Care facilities and 32 Physician practices totaling more than 100 physicians. Mary Black is one of 53 Triad (of Plano, Tx.) hospitals.
Highly successful implementation of HR, Payroll, Materials Management and AP/GL during the conversion to Triad systems. Headed the selection committee and spearheaded the vendor negotiations for our implementation of Fuji PACS. Oversaw the technical portion of two MOB construction projects, 6 OR build-outs and multiple renovations. Formed and headed the selection committee, including 5 physicians, in the selection of an Ambulatory Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System for the Physician's Group. Redesigned the Wide Area network to move to lower cost, higher performance DSL/DS3 from ISDN, saving $3,000.00 per month. Implemented 100 Mbps Metropolitan Area Network to Urgent care facility for PACS image capture and IP Telephony. Oversaw the migration to new Physician Practice Management system with more than 300 users. Implemented IP Telephony (both wired and wireless) on campus and via wireless bridging to two remote office buildings. Reduced Tele-Comm expenses by more than $7,000.00 per month. Renegotiated maintenance agreements which allowed us to make massive improvements in our technological sophistication while growing our operating budget no more than 3% over 6 years. Redesigned Health System Intranet to include an on-line survey tool. Member of Corporate HIPAA and SOX compliance committee. Authored Policies and Procedures. Member of Corporate Strategic System Selection committee. Performed detailed system technical analysis for multiple vendor systems. Authored Disaster Recovery Plan and Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) Documentation that became templates for the entire company.
