EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT - SALES, MARKETING & STRATEGIC ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

Since taking over sales, marketing and strategic account management in 2003 reporting directly to the CEO, we have dramatically increased our MARKETSHARE from being under two times the size of our nearest competitor to more than three times their size. And, in the international side of the business to five times.

In my first year in this role we integrated and reorganized the structure of sales and marketing. We changed our lead generation, qualification and nurturing process; our proposals and presentations were redesigned; we refined our value proposition and differentiators; and we implemented a proprietary closing model that increased our win rate by 12 percentage points along with increasing the average value of wins by $300-500k per contract. Since that time NEW SALES HAVE INCREASED in the range of 60% to 250% each year over the previous 3 years before I took this position. In the past 5 years NEW SALES RECORDS have been set every year adding fifteen Fortune 100 companies to our client list along with over 400 new clients in total.

We have sustained record client retention and expansion during this period as well. Retaining 98.9% of our clients across all business segments and adding new services to 175-200 clients per year on average, resulting in $75+ million in annualized new revenue.

We also launched and branded a new, middle markets business segment which is an area underserved in our industry. These clients delivered margins 15-20 points higher than our existing book of business.


ADDITIONAL REASONS AS TO HOW THESE RESULTS WERE ACHIEVED:
We reorganized the sales and account management teams globally thereby enabling them to identify cross-selling opportunities more readily. This took us from having only a handful of global clients to over 100.
We launched new products that leveraged our unique service delivery model and that drove broader outsourcing opportunities. We set a course focusing on developing fewer new products, but on those that created true differentiation and value. In doing so we successfully changed the method of PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT in the company.
We created a proprietary client retention model that has enabled us to retain over 99.5% of our key clients along with expanding our “Share of Wallet” with them exceeding our stretch targets every year.

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER - INTERNATIONAL SERVICES

In 1999 I was asked to lead our START-UP international division. Previous to the creation of this division, while we had international activity, revenues and staff were scattered among various P&L’s in the company along with having no defined strategy to grow internationally.
In the five years I ran the division we achieved the following:

Created a global operations model that was first to market, along with dramatically changing our service offerings, ultimately enabling us to gain a significant advantage over our competition.
Grew MARKET SHARE to where we are currently five times the size of our nearest competitor.
Built a product and service offering for our international clients that has numerous barriers to entry thereby driving extremely high client retention (over 99.7%) along with a value proposition that Fortune 100 and Global 100 companies have continuously told us is second to none.
Acquired a company in Asia creating our launch pad for a strategic center of excellence in the region. We have now fully integrated that company and our Asia region consistently meets and exceeds all financial and operating targets.
Organic revenues increased over 700% in 5 years.

By design the international division was merged into the broader company global operations. We went from having fewer than 50 employees outside the United States at inception to nearly 1000 that now uniformly serve global multinational companies needs worldwide.

In the 19 years with the company I have been PROMOTED six times after originally starting as a Finance Manager. Thus, while with one employer, I have gained diverse experience including finance, senior leadership, strategic account management, sales, marketing and in running and integrating a global organization. I have hands-on experience in all of these areas as the company has gone through numerous phases during this span from public to private along with several acquisitions and divestitures.

One such acquisition was a completely different line of business for us at the time; a small regional international management training firm which I was asked to lead and integrate into the company. The training area of our business is now global and has grown over 500%. It is now the largest firm of its type in the industry.

Additionally, in 2006 I was offered the position of PRESIDENT at one of our sister companies in an entirely different line of business (travel). Although I was delighted at the opportunity, and the related confidence that the organization placed in me, I declined to take the role as I did not think that the business model was sustainable long-term.
