$3 billion privately held company engaged worldwide in engineering, construction, real estate and O & M services.

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, 2001-2003
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, 1990-2001

Member of Board of Directors. Responsible for all financial and administrative functions including treasury, accounting, risk management, audit, purchasing, safety, information technology, tax, human resources and insurance. Operationally responsible for two real estate subsidiaries, a technology subsidiary and an investment subsidiary.

Provided both strategic guidance and financial expertise to manage and finance rapid growth from less than $1 billion to $3.5 billion of annual revenue.

Consolidated support services reducing redundancies, improving efficiency and saving more than $4 million per year.

Led strategic efforts to diversify into related services. Units acquired or enhanced by this effort became the most profitable components of the company, generating over $30 million of EBIT per year. Retained operational responsibility for three of these units.

Initiated and led team to create single identity and logo for holding company and nine subsidiaries enhancing both marketability and corporate unity.

Established captive offshore insurance company that created $2 million of savings per year while enhancing risk coverage and cash flow.

$2 billion publicly traded company engaged worldwide in engineering, construction, mining and manufacturing.

VICE PRESIDENT AND TREASURER, 1985-1989

Member of Corporate Steering Committee, chairman of Pension Investment Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of numerous subsidiaries. Responsible for all corporate financing, treasury services, project financing, risk management, corporate real estate and acquisitions.

Reduced interest costs and loan restrictions by renegotiating over $200 of corporate debt. Extracted $85 million from over-funded pension plan. Established $46 million ESOP. Leased out 190,000 square feet of excess space in corporate headquarters.

TREASURER, 1984-1985

Reduced cash requirements $10 million by establishing controlled disbursement accounts and utilizing depository-transfer accounts. Developed first corporate investment policy. Responsible for $160 million of short-term investments.

VICE PRESIDENT – FINANCE, Real Estate Subsidiary, 1983-1984

Developed and implemented pooled revolving real estate loan facility which resulted in lower interest rates and the reduction of legal, title and documentation costs. Computerized accounting function and implemented PC-based project evaluation and control system.

ASSISTANT TREASURER, 1978-1983

Implemented company’s first commercial paper program and issued first publicly rated debt. Implemented computerized cash management system.

MANAGER – FINANCIAL ANALYSIS, 1976-1978

Established department to provide analytical support to corporate management, forecast cash flow and control credit risks.

ASSISTANT MANAGER – CORPORATE PLANNING, 1974-1976

Promoted to this position after only three months with the company. Responsible for corporate-wide targeting and budgeting. Developed market assessments and forecasts and internal performance assessments. Helped develop five-year strategic plans.
