Applications and Service Delivery Group Manager - 5+ Years
· Currently manages an organization responsible for providing ongoing development and 24x7 product support for multiple diverse offerings in the financial services and insurance industries. Applications supported include IBM mainframe and web based systems
· Responsible for an organization comprised of several 1st line managers and 100 Information Analysts, Project Analysts, Business Analysts, and Project Managers
· Recent organizational focus has resulted in completion of a multi-stage transformation process to achieve Level 3 CMMI process maturity, introducing run-time improvements into our applications to reduce processing costs by more than $1MM per year, and re-negotiating a long term contract extension which generates $18MM / year in annual revenue
Applications Development Manager / Director - 8 years
· Managed a team of 13 application developers responsible for the design, development and implementation of a new generation Debit Card product for a Tier 1 credit card service provider. Project was a 25,000-hour, multi-year development project to develop a customer configured, data driven decisioning system, in an IBM mainframe based environment. Project was delivered in phases, on time and within budget. Subsequently provided 24x7 on call support for the product
· Established an independent QA Test team and environment for the Debit Card organization, staffed by 2 senior business / technical analysts. Reorganized department into separate on-line, batch, and authorization development teams
· Managed the design, development and implementation of a distributed laboratory data acquisition, analysis, and reporting system supporting both R&D and manufacturing labs for a major US pharmaceutical manufacturer, with deployment in multiple locations in North America and Europe. Staff of 9 analysts and senior analysts. (VAX/VMS, FORTRAN, ORACLE, DECNET, environment)
· Managed and provided technical leadership in the design and development of an IBM mainframe based transaction capture and warehousing system for a commercially marketed EFT application, utilizing 4GL technologies. Staff of 18 analysts, senior analysts and DBAs.
· Managed and provided technical leadership in the design and development of an on-line data encyclopedia for use with a major software company's next generation banking software
Manager, Advanced Technology Group - 5 years
· Managed numerous technology research and evaluation projects resulting in the introduction of various new end user computing technologies into mainstream use by a major US pharmaceutical manufacturer. Staff of 4 senior analysts. (MS-DOS, Windows 3.x)
· Developed a strategic technology plan for the corporation, in partnership with CSC Index Group. Project involved developing IT strategy questionnaire and conducting follow up interviews with senior and mid level executives in each of the corporations 5 divisions to formulate an overall IT strategy for the corporation
