Executive Job Description | Summary of Position This individual will oversee the financial and accounting functions for all financial operations of the Company, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, government contracting, tax, cashmanagement, payroll and accounts payable. I In addition, this individual will provide guidance and coordination in the Human Resources and IT functions. Responsibilities/Job Duties Responsible for the overall functioning and performance of the Accounting Department and its personnel. This includes ensuring staff is adequately trained; coordinating workloads,setting priorities, and schedules to ensure timely and effective completion of work; and monitoring and evaluating performance. Oversee the development, maintenance, and control over the budget/plan program including direct and indirect expenses. Ensures all budget/plan reporting requirements are met. Provide the Corporation with all necessary financial information for accurate monthly closings within the prescribed deadlines. Responsible for communication of financial policies and procedures to Executive team and functional teams, and develop and implement changes to existing policies and procedures. Direct the preparation of monthly financial results within the prescribed deadlines. Ensure financial statements, ledgers, and records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); applicable Costs Accounting Standards (CAS); Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR); Securities & Exchange Commission regulations; federal, state, and local laws, and company policies and procedures. Implementation and documentation of key controls and process concerning the financial statements as required by Sarbanes-Oxley 404 reporting regulations. Subsequent to initial Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, continued maintenance of accounting policies and process documentation and quarterly testing of key controls. Represent the Company as appropriate in its relationship with its lenders, customers, employees, competitors, suppliers, government agencies, community organizations, professional societies and similar groups. Coordination with HR and IT functions. Operational Competencies Knowledge of accounting theory, concepts and practices. Working knowledge of government contracting and government accounting. Knowledge of budgeting and procurement principles and practices. Excellent analytical and problems solving skills including ability to resolve complex issues. Ability to develop and implement internal financial controls, policies and procedures affecting financial management of the Company. Experience with foreign operations and multiple currency issues strongly preferred Education and Training/Certification Required: Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting CPA required Preferred: MBA preferred Related Work Experience Ten or more years of progressive accounting experience to include public accounting, process manufacturing accounting, and/or governmental accounting Experience should include five or more years of experience in a supervisory position Work Environment / Travel Requirements Office Environment International travel may be required
