Project financing mergers and acquisitions, takeovers and corporate restructuring advice specialized infrastructure funds leasing and structured finance The U.S.-based Oil and Gas team is looking for new Vice Presidents to join the team. Currently the group consists of five senior professionals. Reporting to the Head of U.S. Oil and Gas in New York, the Vice Presidents will have substantial responsibility for the Oil and Gas Group’s success in the United States. The positions are located in New York and Houston with travel periodically required. Priorities of the position include working with senior Oil and Gas bankers to: * Execute Client Mandates: direct participation in all phases of mandate generation, execution and ongoing client maintenance will be required of the new Vice Presidents, as our deal teams are small and hand-on. * Lead Deal Teams: help create a cohesive deal team that will be effective in marketing and executing transactions. We expect you will also leverage individual team members’ strengths while contributing perspective and expertise. * Provide Thought Leadership: identify market opportunities consistent with the investment banking business plan and internal capabilities of Macquarie. You will work with senior bankers to develop value-added ideas for clients. The successful candidate will have: * Experience in oil and gas / natural resources with between 4 and 7 years of relevant investment banking experience, particularly in advisory and capital raising assignments. * Extensive transaction experience and proven, credible leadership of deal teams is desirable. * Initiative and a proactive style that focuses on closing transactions; he or she will also be extremely motivated to progress their career in a team-oriented environment. In addition to a high level of intellect, professionalism and integrity, candidates must have demonstrated core competencies in several critical areas: * Transaction experience: proven track record of leading successful transactions in the oil and gas sector consistently over time. demonstrated success in balancing conflicting client objectives and the demands of multiple parties involved in a transaction. demonstrated responsibility including managing deal teams. ability to manage transactions, including external consultants such as attorneys, accountants and reserve engineers to achieve transaction success. * Sector and Commercial Knowledge: an in-depth knowledge of oil and gas clients, their operations and strategies. the ability to translate this knowledge into value-added, actionable ideas for clients. *Leadership Competency: track record of successfully leading client-focused teams. participate and contribute as part of a team organization and demonstrated ability to organize, retain and develop a cohesive and high performance team of banking professionals. * Solid Technical Skills: strong accounting, tax and general financial skills. astute commercial sense and the ability to work closely with both external and internal constituents (as accomplishments will show.) * Communication & Interpersonal Skills executive presence and strong oral and written communication skills. demonstrated success in managing cross-cultural relationships, so experience on an international banking platform is preferred. collaborative style and approach proven track record of building relationships with other bankers and functional colleagues.
