Executive Job Description
Position Title: Vice President, Portfolio Management Finance
Reports To: Director, Portfolio Management Finance
Direct Reports: Vice Presidents/Managers/Associates/Analysts

Position Summary:
The Vice President, Portfolio Management Finance provides financial and operational clarity into the operating companies and portfolios, drives reporting and process improvement, and ensures efficient capital deployment and maximizes its recovery for all company funds.

Job Functions and Duties:
I. Capital
• Manage liquidity and capital activity (“Demand”); partners with the Capital Markets team (“Supply”)
• Review and implement monetization efforts to maximize capital and return
• Perform Fund level reporting to ensure alignment with shareholder compliance and investment return
• Oversee Fund valuation process to ensure alignment of capital strategy and maximization of shareholder value
• Manage and review pricing model process for existing and new operating companies and portfolios to maximize IRR and CRM.
• Identify new methods and strategies to monetize assets, re-structure operating company balance sheets, and leverage deployed capital


II. Risk/Execution
• Review operating company valuations to maximize risk and ensure deployment of effective mitigants
• Standardize and review pricing models to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, Tax and other applicable standards
• Manage liquidity and third party funding to maintain compliance with covenants and other third party requirements
• Partner with Fund Level resources to minimize compliance issues and provide appropriate reporting
• Partner on new ventures to ensure proper valuation, rationalize funding needs and maintain compliance with Hudson standards
• Partner with legal group to ensure appropriateness of documentation and communication in and amongst the entire Fund portfolio
• Work with portfolio companies to ensure compliance with GAAP, tax and other regulatory standards
• Drive quarterly valuation of Funds to maximize shareholder value
• Drive monthly budget versus actual operating company performance analyses and reporting to monitor compliance with targets and industry benchmarks
• Perform reviews of pricing assumptions and models to ensure accuracy
• Review all operating companies’ financial reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable standards
• Partner with operating company teams to ensure appropriate valuations, reporting and measurement of KPIs
• Review and approve expense reimbursement reports to ensure compliance with HA policy and provide expense measurement benchmarks and analyses for Fund level reporting
• Provide guidance to operating company teams and senior management on matters of accounting, tax and capital management
• Partner with Fund Level FP&A, Investor Reporting, Tax, and Accounting as well as Originations to provide key data to support shareholder value and compliance with reporting requirements
• Develop individual skill sets and leadership capabilities to drive efficiency, build team focus and develop bench strength
• Partner with HA functional leadership in the formation and structuring of new funds

III. Management
• Provide leadership to Finance Team as well as Operating Company and Portfolio teams to maximize CREM across the Fund
• Mentor Finance Team as well as Operating Company and Portfolio teams to drive the HA culture of “Team” and “Pro-active” management
• Partner with Leadership team to drive delivery of cohesive communication and execution
• Provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to all members of Portfolio Management to build key developmental skills to support professional growth and maximize Fund performance
• Identify key areas of individual weakness for all Finance Team and operating company members in order to create development plan for improvement
• Create “open door” policy to allow for all forms of personal and professional guidance to Finance Team and operating company team
• Develop and drive Associate forum (“Associate Roundtable”) to provide information sharing and communication from top to bottom and across the Portfolio
• Lead, partner and execute on ad-hoc assignments to support both Senior Leadership and Leadership teams

Required Education/Experience:
• MBA in Finance or related field

• 10+ years progressive work experience; turn-around, CFO, and private equity experience desired
* Experience in multiple industries including real estate, commercial finance, mortgages and structured finance

• Management/supervisory experience required


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong leadership experience in horizontal and vertical reporting structures
* Knowledge of Analytical Finance, Capital Markets, Operations, Risk Management, Process Improvement
* Strong quantitative skills
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills at all levels
• Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Visio Proficiency
• Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Self-starter with the ability to multi-task
• Must display a flexible attitude and have the ability to manage change effectively
