Executive Job Description | A full-service commercial bank operating multiple offices and ATMs in the Lehigh and Northampton Counties seeks a VP, Commercial Lending Officer. Their community-oriented style enables them to provide flexibility and helps sustain mutually satisfying long-term banking relationships. They are a true community bank, with all banking needs and decisions being made locally. The VP, Commercial Lending Officer will generate, maintain, and control the commercial loan relationship. He/She will administer efficient loan servicing activities for the commercial loan department. Develop new business in commercial loans and non-commercial and non-credit products, analyzing credit worthiness within prescribed guidelines. He/She will also sell other bank services as needed.
KEY DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Extends credit to individuals or businesses by: a. Interviewing customers and compiling necessary information to determine customers’ requirements, and then structure the best type of loan to accomplish the objective. b. Obtaining and analyzing all necessary business and/or personal financial data, determine credit worthiness of applicant and then structure and approve loans within established policy. c. Assisting subordinates in loans that exceed their limits, deviate from established policy or are of a doubtful nature. d. Following current lending trends established by the bank. e. Participating in officer’s loan committee meetings, as a voting member.
Maintains loan servicing activities including proper documentation of loan by: a. Ensuring adherence to approved loan servicing policies and procedures. b. Ensuring proper control and maintenance of all notes, ledgers and other documents. c. Analyzing existing procedures and recommending changes when necessary. d. Monitoring loans to ensure conformity to terms. e. Collecting on delinquent assigned accounts and monitoring daily overdrafts. f. Respond and resolve customer complaints and/or problems. Develops new business by: a. Calling on customers and prospects to expand relationships. b. Cross-selling commercial and non-commercial bank services, i.e., cash management, FFA wealth management, and retirement plans. c. Networking with business professionals. d. Actively participating in outside community organizations. e. Maintains an internal relationship with loan committee, office, and credit personnel.
- Presents loans for approval and recommend exit strategies when appropriate. - Maintains an external relationship with bank customers and referral network. - Performs various administrative duties relating to client servicing and documentation reporting. - Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as requested.
WORK EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED: - 7-10 years of related experience. - Knowledge of cash flow lending. - Relevent degree . -Formal lending training. |
