Executive Job Description | Our client, a giant in the retail/wholesale industry, is currently seeking to hire a Senior Manager of International Accounting for their facility located in Framingham, MA.
Responsibilities
The Manager of International accounting is responsible for the monthly close process for all European, Asian, South American and Australian entities.
The manager is also responsible for monitoring the internal control processes at these entities including the reporting of key metrics, adherence to all Company Accounting Policies, and understanding any financial risk or classification issues at these entities.
The manager will also be responsible for supporting the EVP of emerging markets in the operating reviews and during the planning seasons.
* Oversee the monthly close process for all international subsidiaries, including the upload and financial integration of CE entities. Assume ownership of International entity financial statement integrity. Understand balance sheet and income statement fluctuations on a monthly basis and provide senior management an update on the operating results. Align Europe reporting to new regional structure.
* Operationalize key control metrics report across the globe. Systematize the report and collection of information. Review results on a monthly basis to identify any potential financial statement risks / classification issues.
* Globalize Company's Accounting Policies. Partner with subject matter experts to standardize policies and document exceptions by country/business unit.
* Drive operating results of the emerging markets entities (China, South America, India). Council the President of NAD on key areas of concern for discussion during operating reviews. Assume ownership of the LRP, budget, and forecast for these entities. Implement accounting controls in the emerging market entities. Monitor cash disbursement registers and cash flow information.
* Utilize monthly and quarterly accounting review meetings with the different business units to monitor operating results, discuss compliance with company policies and address changes in policies or procedures.
* Partner with the European SAP competency center and Oracle Admin team on the SAP to Oracle rollout. Coordinate mapping activities and business decisions needed.
* Drive Corporate accounting projects. Streamline fixed asset rollforward process, work with cross-functional group to reduce time by at least 2 days.
Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in Accounting
* 8 to 10 years related experience in a multi-national environment.
* CPA, chartered or certified accountant status preferred.
* Financial statement translation and foreign currency conversion experience.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with various cultures and all levels of management in a multi-national environment.
* Foreign language skills preferred.
* Strong analytical, organizational, time management and supervisory skills.
* Knowledge of Oracle Financials or related accounting software packages.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Ability to work within tight deadlines and balance workload effectively.
