Specialty Insurance - Associate Analyst - NYC

Our client is seeking an Associate Analyst (4-8 years experience) to join their global insurance group focused on analysis and research of Financial Guarantors, Mortgage Insurers and/or Reinsurance companies.


Responsibilities include:
· assisting senior analytical staff in research and writing of company credit reports and special reports
· analysis of companies' financial statements and public disclosures
· continued monitoring of companies
· analysis of quantitative/qualitative data
· travel and interaction with top level executives at company meetings and
investors/intermediaries
· Special projects as needed
· provide wide ranging support to the team's global efforts


Who should apply to this role?
· Credit Analysts, Fixed Income Analysts, Securities / Equities Analysts, Actuary's, Reserve Analysts, Auditors, Risk Managers or Accountants.

Qualifications:
· 4-8 years of relevant professional experience working in or analyzing Financial Guarantors, Mortgage Insurers and/or Reinsurance firms.
· MBA, CFA, Actuarial or other relevant advanced degree a plus but not required
· Strong quantitative and computer skills, perhaps acquired as a securities
analyst, auditor, or actuary.
· Credit Training a big plus
· Background in statistical modeling and reserve analysis preferred
· Computer proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint necessary
· Strong research, analytic, writing and speaking skills are sought, as is the capacity to interact effectively with senior managers--both inside and outside the company.
