we are a recruiting company. we have a client that has this need. Please see the job description as well as a brief task they would like to see the candidate do to ensure he's a good fit for their work. The ideal candidate should have extensive JavaScript client (YUI preferred) and server-side Java experience.
The project entails writing JSON API services in Java that pull data from a document-oriented database and makes the information available for the client application. The UI is rendered entirely in JavaScript on the client side and the server simply provides JSON APIs.
Experience with documented-orientated databases is not a requirement. Experience with Linux, Ant, Tomcat, Servlets, Hibernate (or another ORM tool) and MySQL is a must.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of client and server-side development experience.
Tools/Platforms:
* Java 1.6 • Linux • JavaScript • MongoDB • YUI 2.8 • TrimPath JS Lib • Tomcat • Git .. Here's the capabilities script that we need. If someone can do this, they can do what we need.
• Download and start MongoDB • Write a program in Java that: o Opens a database connection o Creates a collection Collection should include the following fields: • id (Mongo generated) • name (random string) • timestamp (use a long field) • random number - double (min 0 - max 1,000). o Add 100 entries to the collection o Iterate over all of the documents in the collection o Print the average of all the random numbers o Print the sum of all the random numbers o Iterate over all documents in the collection and update the timestamp in each document to the current time (in ms).
