Executive Job Description | Miscellaneous Professional Liability Senior Vice President. Our client, a nationally recognized provider of A+ rated Insurance coverage for Specialty Property & Casualty insurance is in a highly desirable suburban Greater NYC location. The incumbent will have P&L responsibility for all Miscellaneous Professional Liability productsThe incumbent will accelerate the organization’s ability to effectively institute change and produce superior, sustainable underwriting results. He/she will be responsible for directing product management, facilitating the identification, development, and deployment of competitive, profitable, market driven products and services. Be responsible for directing the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including identifying product and customer requirements, defining product vision, and working closely with Actuarial, IT, Legal, Marketing, Underwriting, Reinsurance and Claims functions to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. In addition, will establish premium and profitability targets; provide analysis of the book of business to identify trends and opportunities, and loss ratio results. Manage underwriting accountability through several direct reports; and establish and develop key contacts with high quality brokers/agents, reinsurance carriers and/or intermediaries. In addition, the incumbent and Senior Management will participate in forming recommendations for the strategic direction of the Miscellaneous Professional Liability lines of business. CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE:
· Ten plus yrs exp. in Property & Casualty profit center management with extensive experience in the product development, underwriting, and marketing of Professional Liability.
· Established people management and team building ability.
· Recognized technical knowledge in Miscellaneous Professional Liability underwriting, product design, rating, and pricing supporting a proven record of profitable underwriting.
· Ability to analyze preferred markets for profitable opportunities and provide underwriting solutions, through creativity and vision to design coverage that can appropriately respond to a specific client’s needs.
· Possess an in-depth working intelligence of current business issues within the broker community and excess and surplus lines.
· Ability to work effectively with and advise business segment leaders, executives and staff in business planning, new product design, distribution channels and broker/agent evaluation and selection.
· Demonstrated flexibility to react to ever-changing environments and market conditions.
· “Hands-on” ability to direct/manage/influence underwriting process to support coverage design required by the strategies and underwriting philosophy.
· High energy, with a desire to be a team player capable of interacting with a variety of individuals internally and externally.
· Demonstrated innovator, not satisfied with the status quo, who actively seeks new or better methods of competence and a problem solver who is broad-gauged, but who also has the capacity to understand and interpret and analyze a vast amount of industry data.
· A bachelor degree with professional development or industry designation desired. COMPENSATION Base salary in the $200,000 -300,000 range, + Bonus + other excellent benefits. REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT LOCATION: Greater NYC
