Uses skills to champion significant projects, programs, and business initiatives. Proactive business partnership, as evidenced by ability to prioritize projects versus strategic objectives, proactively suggests opportunities to improve as needed, synthesis of existing customer and market insights, ability to represent consumer or market voice in meetings. Establishes a unique vision for the future (generally at the project level) and generates broad support. Demonstrates an entrepreneurial perspective (envisioning new and innovative ideas and approaches and taking them to fruition). Uses broad expertise or unique knowledge to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Drives complex, strategic initiatives in customer learning and new opportunities exploration. Up-levels insights from data analysis to strategic implications, works with group manager and director level clients. Improves the customers’ experiences by understanding what’s important and driving priorities to improve. Develops understanding of customer experience and behavior to better reflect their issues to cross functional teams Understands the importance of customer feedback and market tracking in shaping short term and long term priorities Challenges the effectiveness of current working process and systems, recommending changes as appropriate Actively seeks guidance for prioritization and review of deliverables. Develops internal network to effectively utilize key resources. Knows how to utilize metrics to manage and assess deliverables. Uses detailed understanding of customer requirements or market dynamics to contribute to the development of organization’s goals and objectives. Understands how customer requirements fit into the strategy and establishes execution plan for own deliverables. Participates in setting strategic objectives to achieve business results. End-to-end accountability for project/program deliverables by engaging decision makers at appropriate levels. Promotes speed, quality, and shared vision by getting the right people involved in decision making. Constructively mentors more junior members of the team. Partners and collaborates across organizational boundaries. Influence impacts critical multi-year business deliverables.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in statistics, psychology, business, marketing, or related field 10 years related marketing research work experience; or master’s degree in related field + 3-5 years of marketing research experience; PhD in related field with + 2-3 years related marketing research experience Demonstrated expertise in marketing research concepts, techniques and applications Demonstrated consulting skills – formulate research to meet business needs, execute on time and on budget, project management, presentation, and evaluation. • Plays role of strategic partner • Clearly articulates and provides input into critical decisions to help mitigate risk • Able to articulate and advocate for the customer's needs • Participates in setting strategic objectives to achieve business results • Advanced understanding of common marketing research techniques (surveys, focus groups, field studies, web analytics, personal interviews, syndicated research searches, driver analyses) • Advanced understanding of typical marketing research applications (market sizing, needs assessment, segmentation, pricing, advertising effectiveness, early and late stage concept testing, messaging and branding testing) • Extensive experience in data collection, data cleansing, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of results.
