As part of an aggressive growth strategy, the market driven leadership team has invested significant resources to expand their product portfolio and technical support capabilities to enter a new market niche with automotive manufacturers in North America, as well as Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers. This entrepreneurial role will play a key role in driving that strategy and building the OEM Grease business in North America.
Ideally located in Detroit, MI with convenient access to automotive tech centers, this senior level sales position will be responsible for identifying opportunities to expand existing relationships and win market share in OEM Grease products. He or she will be responsible for all sales activities from lead generation through close, drawing support from internal resources to achieve customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values. As the market expert, this position will develop the OEM Grease business plan, with long term objectives that include training and managing additional technical sales professionals.
The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of technical sales experience with demonstrated success managing relationships with key automotive customers. Product experience should include oils, greases, lubricants, paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants or other chemical products that are sold to OEMs. Individuals with chemical specification/purchasing experience from a major automotive company with an interest in sales will also be considered. Most important are outstanding communications skills, both written and verbal, with proven ability to build strong business relationships. BS Engineering, Chemistry or Business with technical aptitude is required; MBA a plus. Proven ability to manage a complex sales process with a solid understanding of OEM testing procedures, as well as approval and PPAP processes is necessary. Organizational and follow-up skills should also include computer/technology proficiency and experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
Based from a home office, this position will require approximately 25% travel, some international. Compensation will include a six figure base salary, plus attractive bonus plan, auto allowance, expenses, and full employee benefits.
