Executive Job Description	Senior Vice President of Finance & Accounting Tax Lien Business/Hedge Fund Position Description Our client is a start up real estate tax lien service organization that is part of a well known hedge fund. They are seeking a SVP Finance and Accounting to build the accounting and finance functions for this start-up service organization which is focused on purchasing and managing real estate tax liens and related property. This is an opportunity to shape the overall direction of the finance department and business. The SVP position reports directly to the Business President and is located in central New Jersey. Position Objectives The SVP Finance and Accounting will be responsible for building and leading the finance and accounting functions for the tax lien business including being: •Responsible for producing timely financial analysis for a minimum of four legal entities •Ensuring tax rule implications of corporate structures and financing options are explored and impact understood •Working with the President to manage and comply with any existing lender and parent company requirements for each of the entities •Assisting in quantifying and institutionalizing underwriting guidelines for purchasing and managing tax liens and REO •Ensuring implementation of financial and banking controls Responsibilities The major responsibilities for the SVP Finance and accounting include: •Reviewing and approving financial statements, financial reports, projections, budgets and management information reports •Managing the monthly closing process for all legal entities (including tax provisions) including Joint Ventures •Developing internal accounting, banking and treasury procedures and controls •Ensuring process are conducted in accordance with all relevant internal procedures and policies •Overseeing the implementation of any financial and management reporting systems (e.g., G/L, tax lien software) and approve and coordinate ongoing changes and enhancements •Ensuring financial record systems are maintained in accordance with applicable standards •Confirming the accuracy and integrity of all business and operational activities as related to financial and management reporting •Managing outside CPA firm on annual audits and tax filing preparation •Controlling all banking operations, including internal and external controls •Providing on-going financial and accounting information to any credit facilities •Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements •Representing the firm externally to funding investors, auditors and regulatory bodies •Developing a strong understanding of the overall business model and associates’ responsibilities Candidate Requirements The ideal SVP Finance and Accounting candidate will meet the following requirements: •Minimum of seven years in both Public Accounting and private sector •Knowledge of real estate finance and property development is essential •Superb knowledge of software, especially G/L packages, excel and access •Previous responsibilities in building an accounting function and team •Individual of impeccable ethics and integrity •Ability to produce quality work in a fast paced environment •Desire to play a vital role in building the firm from the ground-up and must be hands-on leader •Well organized and sensitive to deadlines •Strong Excel modeling skills •BA in Accounting and a CPA is preferred - an MBA would also be beneficial Contact: Larry Blagman -Senior Director Claymore Partners lblagman@claymorepartners.com 203-987=4642
