Executive Job Description | Based in New York City, we are the North American headquarters of a global Japanese corporation dealing with a wide range of commodities, industrial goods and consumer products. In addition, the Company is an active investor and business partner in more than 80 subsidiaries and affiliates.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
The position reports directly to a member of senior management, but will work closely and interface with the firm’s International Headquarters staff, and subsidiary management executives.
POSITION:
This is a new position necessitated by the firm’s continued growth, the complexities of the businesses and their close international affiliations.
In responding to these challenges, the focus of the position will be simultaneously directed towards both supporting the coordination and execution of J-Sox/SOX as well as the development and enhancement of internal controls in the corporate headquarters and targeted subsidiaries.
Functioning as an Internal Consultant, basic responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following functions:
J-SOX:
· Prepare SOX/J-Sox Documents. · Maintain and control the schedule of SOX/J-Sox implementation. · Communicate and coordinate with Parent Company Headquarters in Tokyo for SOX/J-Sox implementation. · Conduct Operating Effectiveness Test and Checklists.
INTERNAL CONTROLS:
· Direct the enhancement of and implement internal controls/policy and procedures in targeted subsidiaries as well as the domestic corporate headquarters. · Interact with internal and external auditors related to Sox and internal controls implementation. · As a member of the Inventory Control Task Force (task force supports Business Groups for implementation of inventory controls), will be involved in various tasks such as the development of standardized inventory controls for corporate implementation and other related work directed towards inventory control. · Manage the assessment of and set up a tool like template for improvement of the internal controls in each targeted subsidiary.

EXPERIENCE and REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Appropriate years of public accounting or a combination of public/private accounting to carry out the responsibilities of the position. · Must have strong Sarbanes-Oxley expertise. · Must have recent business experience working with or within a manufacturing, industrial or consumer product organization. · CPA or CIA preferred. · Some travel may be required.
COMPENSATION:
$125,000 + BONUS
