Executive Job Description	Our client is a highly rated, financially strong, Property and Casualty Insurance Company. Due to profitable growth we are seeking a Midwest Regional Vice President, to lead the Midwestern operation out of the Chicago, Illinois area. This position reports to the CEO. Major Responsibilities and Results: • Leadership role and profit center responsibility for the Midwestern region. • Manages existing states and opens new states. • Hires and manages underwriters in building a quality book of standard middle market business. • Appoints agents and develops agency relationships in order to build a profitable book of business. • Provides technical underwriting expertise and guidance to underwriters and assists in and/or decides complex and major underwriting cases. • Coordinates with appropriate executives to determine changes in underwriting policies and practices. • Helps to guide, develop and train underwriting staff. • Maintains relationships with various industry and trade organizations. • Participates in division and company operational and strategic planning and special projects. Education and/or Experience: • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years of commercial underwriting experience, with branch supervisory or management experience and a history of career advancement and achievement. • Professional insurance designations, i.e. CPCU, CIC or ARM, and superior insurance underwriting knowledge with a strong disciplined approach to the underwriting process. • Extensive level of agency relationships and knowledge and experience in the regional territory.
