Executive Job Description | Our client is a well-known global investment management firm. Due to their growth and success, they are currently seeking an Operations Manager with equities and derivatives experience to support the requirements of the funds managed in New York, Europe, Asia and Australia. The Operations Manager will be based in the New York Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and train operations analyst and supervisors and ensure that all established daily trade and fund investment servicing processing and procedures and controls are completed on time and that all of the information is accurate
Create monthly and quarterly management and valuation reports within deadline
Maintain strong working relationships with fund administrators, custodians, transfer agents, and sales and client services.
Resolve any operation issues and errors on a timely basis with documentation
Evaluate new business and hiring needs and work with the Human Resources department to hire new employees and to conduct periodic performance appraisals
Ensure a seamless operational transition for new and converted funds from implementation to production mode from the implementation/conversion team
Assess and improve the operational service model on an ongoing basis
Stay abreast of current industry developments
Background Requirements:
At least 10 years of fund accounting experience with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience within the asset management industry
Prior equity operations management experience is REQUIRED
Alternative investment, risk management or controllers experience is a plus
Experience with Capital Markets, Derivatives or Prime Brokerage is preferred
Must demonstrate project and vendor management experience
Ability to work on multiple projects at once while adhering to strict deadlines
Strong initiative and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities from start to finish
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Keen attention to detail
