Executive Job Description | DESCRIPTION: A: Purpose and Scope The National Sales Manager is responsible for managing sales for specific national accounts in the grocery, drug and mass distribution channels. Manages a network of brokers and independent sales reps.
B. Responsibilities Responsible for developing sales and distribution in the drug, grocery and mass market channels. Should develop and implement sales strategies and reporting sales performance to management. Meet or exceed brand distribution objectives for new and existing products Provide accurate and timely forecast of sales and product needs. Resolve customer service issues and build strong relationships with national accounts. Provide direction and leadership for brokers/sales reps
C. Organization Relationships The National Sales Manager reports directly to the President
REQUIREMENTS: A. Education and Training The National Sales Manager is required to have a four-year Business Administration degree with training in the following areas: * Knowledge and understanding of consumer product sales at Food/Drug/Mass; * Assessment and techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating and reporting sales performance; * Additional skills required for managing sales, such as planning, organizing, communicating, and directing * Should have strong people skills along with a team company attitude.
B. Technical Requirements The National Sales Manager must be able to develop and execute effective sales presentations. The NSM is required to read and understand technical and non-technical documents as relate to the sales of and contracts for the company's products. This includes the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.
C. Managerial Experience The National Sales Manger shall have a minimum of five years prior experience in the consumer products industry, preferably in the personal care products, calling on national accounts and managing sales reps/brokers to achieve sales and distribution quotas
