Executive Job Description | Our client, a global leader in the blood bank and transfusion medicine device industry, is seeking a Medical Device Marketing Manager with specific and current marketing experience from the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The Medical Device Marketing Manager will be responsible for working without significant company direction to provide leadership in the areas of strategic direction, objectives, marketing strategies, sales tools, and product line problem resolution within the APAC region.
The Medical Device Marketing Manager for the APAC region will be based and located in Denver Colorado. International travel will be required, with 40% initially to the APAC area. Once the individual is settled, travel will then be 30% to the APAC region. Mandarin and Japanese skills are a plus.
Ideal Candidate for this position would have the following credentials:
8 or more years of relevant medical device technical or clinical experience with emphasis in Sales, Marketing or Business. BS degree in the scientific, engineering or clinical field is highly desired. Current and extensive knowledge of sales/marketing strategic planning and program delivery in the APAC region. Mandarin and Japanese skills are a plus.
Overview of Position:
Analyzes and solves complex and or unusual customer problems in a timely manner. Working with a high degree of independence, translates customer needs into product conceptualization, development and design objectives, and marketing strategies. Provides leadership during product trials and introductions. Coordinates efforts with manufacturing, engineering, quality, worldwide sales, and other functional areas to produce innovative products that meet customer needs. Establishes and is held accountable for the achievement of sales and market share goals for assigned products. Collects and analyzes competitor information and tracks sales. Develops and refines marketing, promotional, and pricing strategies. Provides detailed input/feedback to Product Management Team to recommend changes in product design, manufacturing, quality, or any other aspect of the product or service. Develops and coordinates the production of product introduction, sales and support materials, brochures, and other tools. Organizes, coordinates, and presents product seminars for customers and sales personnel. Assists customers and sales personnel through the provision of sales training, clinical in-service assistance, and marketing programs. Establishes and achieves sales goals for assigned markets and monitors and analyzes indicators of business performance such as Sales versus Forecast (units, revenue, gross profit), actual versus plan selling price, product mix, disposables utilization, competitor information, and other relevant marketing factors. Develops and implements the introductory business plans for new products or product enhancements to assure proper positioning strategies. Coordinates pre-launch, launch and post-launch activities. Works closely with the Sales organization and Global Marketing Managers to successfully identify business opportunities, support tools, and new marketing programs in a timely and high quality manner. Provides direction on the design and implementation of promotion, sales force collateral, and customer communication materials to ensure consistency with customers needs and the selling system approach. Evaluates communication and documentation programs and support tools for effectiveness through customer and sales force feedback as well as objective research. Identifies inefficient business work processes, recommends technological solutions to improve, and considers the implication and application of proposed solutions on other projects, programs, work units, or business information problems.
Requirements for Position:
8 or more years of relevant medical device technical or clinical experience with emphasis in Sales, Marketing or Business. BS degree in the scientific, engineering or clinical field is desired. Current and extensive knowledge of sales/marketing strategic planning and program delivery in the APAC region. Mandarin and Japanese skills are a plus. Extensive knowledge of product applications /therapies and the markets of the product(s) for which the incumbent has responsibility. Demonstrated and effective leadership ability and managerial skills. Demonstrated analytical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems and develop programs with creativity and good judgment. Demonstrated expertise in product and therapy knowledge. Working knowledge of domestic and worldwide markets and global marketing strategy. Ability to assess customer needs and market trends within the context of product and business capabilities and the ability to translate this assessment into workable strategy. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively and comfortably with physicians and other medical professionals, as well as with all functions and levels within the business organization. Demonstrated desire and ability to lead and motivate others in team efforts. Ability to understand scientific facts and package them into a cohesive communication model for customers and Sales personnel. Demonstrated ability to identify root causes of problems and create new solutions to non-routine issues. Ability to develop financial analysis to justify market, product, or service investments. Ability to fully understand complete customer business models. Requires a thorough understanding of marketplace dynamics as they relate to product, price, distribution, and overall customer financial objectives.
Compensation:
Salary range is $100-115K and based upon experience. International travel is required, initially 40% to the APAC region. Individual will be based and located in Denver Colorado. The company offers a very competitive benefits package that includes health, 401K, and paid vacation.
