Executive Job Description | Java Developer
Financial Services Firm seeks sharp Java Developer. The firm’s Development Group is hiring a strong Java Developer who is innovative and delivery focused, to play a key role in its regulatory systems.
The Developer will be responsible for a portion of the system: maintaining and enhancing existing functionality, designing and developing new functionality, testing critical code, delivering to production with aggressive deadlines.
Business/General Skills:
· Basic knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of equity order management (preferably in the Exchange environment)
· Ability to interact with business, collect and document the requirements
· University Degree in Computer Science or similar
· Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills/Experience:
· Working knowledge of SQL and JDBC is required. Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, calling stored
· Must have working knowledge of JSP, JSF, JavaScript, HTML, XML, JDBC, and CSS
· Proficiency in creating of web-based applications for
1. Entry, search, and management of orders, trades, and other transactional data
2. Reporting/Web-Charting
· Understanding of procedures from Java, working with high DB volumes, and performance tuning of DB access is desirable
· Understanding and practical knowledge of Java concurrency, multithreading, and TCP/IP communication
· Hands-on experience in configuring and deployment of web applications running under Tomcat on UNIX/Linux
· Understanding of object-oriented programming and modern design patterns is desirable
· Very strong analytical skills, very fast learner
· Proficient verbal communication skills
· Ability to work cooperatively in an open team environment, striving to achieve team goals
· Ability to work independently
